Come on west ham!

Very true, cause it wont be too safe in east london if we are celebrating fourth while they are mourning relegation, on the other hand, if they are safe and it is between us and spuds in the last game......

when we play west sham and if we win it sends them down i doubt tevez will score i can see him passing the ball to adebayor for him to score:)

Bet he'll get a 6 match ban for winning a header or something before that..

I want the fuckers relegated, 45 fucking quid for a match ticket now them owners are there. Expect more of the same.

They may have dodgy money grabbing owners but that doesnt mean i would want them relegated, a real club with real fans and a reputation for playing the game in the right way (not to mention winning the wc in '66), quite a few clubs i would much rather see the back of for a lot of different reasons.

man up about it -

;o)

.. whether they're still needing the points or not we have to beat them, as we've got Arsenal, ManUre, Villa and Spurs left to go too - as you well know.

we can't be pussies about this can we - especially if we have greater aspirations?

you can argue either way about playing them if they're already safe. if there is huge pressure on them to get a result maybe it makes it harder for them, nerves and all that. if they're safe, it could be like a huge weight is suddenly lifted from their shoulders and they play the football they are capable of.

if we get the tactics right, keep our focus and turn in a great performance we are good enough to beat them either way.

i tend to agree with this view

teams with pressure on them feel like their legs have lead in them
they make incorrect decisions and take wrong turns

without the pressure they are more relaxed and can go and enjoy themselves and play to their best

remember Blackburn away in 2000, Tiatto (one of our fastest players) looked like he was running in treacle, we were too nervous to play as the pressure was on us
meanwhile a shit Blackburn team completely over-run us for 60 minutes

Yep, tend to agree with this. Didn't West Ham put paid to Tottenham's top Four chances a few seasons ago? What did they have riding on that game? Not a lot from memory. The prospect of a team that have been playing under the pressure of needing to pick up points to survive, suddenly having that pressure lifted off them, and being sent out to just enjoy themselves and give their supporters something to cheer about, fills me with dread. I'd much rather they went into the game under the pressure of needing a result, and if that means losing against us sends them down then so be it.

exactly
you never know what is going to happen when you are under pressure
for some it gets the adrenaline going and they come out fighting, for others they revert to their reptilian nature and rather than fight they flee
i would much rather been in a position where both us and west ham need a point for our objectives, could be as exciting as austria v germany in the 74 world cup

another game where we were under pressure and struggled against a team with nothing to play for was Bradford 1 V 1 City in 87
or what about City 2 V 2 Liverpool in 96?

teams with no pressure are a danger

Great minds think alike? or Fools seldom differ? Who knows? Lets hope we're the ones going into the game with no pressure, because we've already sown up Fourth place by then. Somehow, being City, I think this is quite unlikely though........

fingers crossed, but it wouldn't be city if we didn't leave it until the last few minutes of a season, to go either way!

I'd rather have Burnley stay up than West Ham if push came to shove. Hull and Wigan to go down for me. Can't see it though. Burnley will go in my opinion, due to their horrific run-in, but I think West Ham will/should stay up.

playing the game the right way? Oh yeah like avoiding relegation by playing 2 foreign players they weren't legally allowed to, by breaking rules that in retrospect the authorities should have got them relegated, by using their influence at the FA to get away with said cheating. It's been a long time coming but WHU will get their just reward and I for one hope Tevez sends them into oblivion.
