Got a mate who has been in isolation since pre-lockdown with BMI issues, been on full pay from work and is in the pub with 6 others at 12.00 tomorrow, dick.

Used to remember the old Yates wine lodge in Rochdale being a bit like that. Sawdust on the floor and accompanying spitkids. Used to order an Aussie red all in and reminisce with like-minded souls. I won't be venturing into the fray tomorrow as I have become accustomed to imbibing indoors where the prices remain clement and the service is tip top. It's a safe environmentally friendly bubble too incorporating a free jukebox.

You go to the pub for the company. To see your mates on neutral territory. I moved in 2016 and lived somewhere knowing nobody. Popped out to the pub on a Thursday to watch a Euro Semi Final and made five new friends. I’d have been lost without that.

Just ironed my shirt and off. Early bird catches the worm. Or a crisp £10. Been ringing mates all night. Some didn't pickup. Lazy bastards after saying book me in...don't forget me

Seems like half our workforce has booked Monday off work due to going on the lash all weekend.
It's going to be like a bank holiday weekend & new years eve all rolled into one.
Think i may have to wear a full chem suit & full face breathing apparatus into work next week

As I mainly drink in town the pubs I frequent and have missed visiting (Gully, castle, Grey Horse, The City and Fringe) are all staying shut so temptation is not really there.

In the summer months I would normaly be overseas on holiday so can wait a little longer to go to a proper old boozer again.

On returning, it isn't the pubs being back open I worry about as I expect all are doing their upmost to make sure everyone will be safe, it's the dickheads that will rush out and get tankered up making the while experience unsafe.

Let all the giddy ones go first and then in a fortnight or so I will venture back
