At what point did i say it wasn't called the Community shield? Its literally the title of the thread we are posting in? I said its a charity game. The money made goes to charity, the majority given to the 124 teams who play in the 1st round of the FA Cup to distribute to their chosen charities.
Did you read the last message?

Some of the money goes to charities, yes, but not enough for it to be thought of as a charitable event.

Therefore, Blackburn (Leicester, or whoever hosts the game) will want recompense for use of their facilities.

You quoted something from 20 years ago! The game raises money for charity therefore it is a charity game. Surely that's not difficult to comprehend?

I tried.

There’s nothing more I can do to try and show you that nowhere near 100% of the ticket sales go to charity. The charities commission confirmed this.

I bet Wembley take a hosting fee every years it’s held there too.

Where did i say 100% of the ticket sales goes to charity? Did you honestly think i thought the FA put on an event which cost them money?

I said its a charity game in response to you suggesting Blackburn would get the gate receipt - thats all. Nobody takes a big cut of a charities money. Obviously Blackburn would be due fee, but that fee would be peanuts and swallowed up in costs to put the game on. Blackburn getting a fee isn't going to swing them to host the game. The only thing that would be the prestige of the game and that hardly worth it.

Lol, ok mate.

As one poster as already said, the simple thing to do would be to play the game at the Etihad or Anfield, decided by the toss of a coin. How difficult is that ffs.
Boring as hell though, we play them at the Etihad or Anfield at least once each year. The reason I usually don’t go to the Community Shield is there is no novelty with Wembley and it’s of course it’s a piss take to play it there. This is a great chance for a one off showpiece at a ground where the atmosphere could be great, ticket prices decent and travel okay, so Leicester, Elland Road or Villa Park would be good for me.
