About 2 years ago I made a complaint to the BBC about something on CBBC. My daughters liked to watch a programme about kids trying to find partners for their single Mum/Dad. The kids involved would interview potential partners, and in one episode they had a bloke recite his favourite limerick.

she didn't like the French,
because the stench,
of their breath made her feel quite sicky.'
I complained to the BBC saying that this was racist, I pointed out that they wouldn't dream of letting this through if it was about Asians, Blacks, Muslims or the Irish.
They squirmed, came up with feeble excuses such as 'It was just a joke (to which I replied 'try using that as a defence to racism in the Crown Court..it was just a joke').
Of course one of the things they said was the old 'Sorry if you were offended'.
It went backwards and forwards for months and in the end I just said 'Look, I know you were in the wrong, you know you were in the wrong, but you just can't bring yourselves to admit it'.
Different subject but the same attitude.

I do take your point but a mini demo of 20/30 fans would just have us a bit of a laughing stock.It actually worked for the MIB's though didn't it, he crapped himself and stayed put. Who said it was only 20-30? Even that amount would draw attention if it is done right. A demonstration was mooted earlier in the thread but went quiet I am just throwing it back into the mix. I know we get crap of other media outlets but I don't have to pay for them, the BBC I do.Also why a laughing stock? How many does it need to NOT be a laughing stock.....100,1000,10000?
