Maybe not August but definitely they have known for a wile.

Classic Boxing this the way that just because a fighter fails a drug test doesn't mean people still cant work around it.

As soon as the result came out that should have been it - fight off - fighter banned - everyone move on.

There are weight divisions for a reason and only heavy weights can fight with a big weight gap

From what I heard no. The failed test was from the unofficial (but globally recognised) testing firm. It seems that as the official tester failed to find it then its in a legally murky place. My prediction is the lawyers will win.

Dodgy as hell this. Wasn't the fight originally announced in August with an October date? And the sample was from August? So he'd been juicing to even the gap and thought he'd get away with it in time for that fight. Why did it take so long for this news to come out though? Feels like the Eubank camp will have known to make the fight happen he'd have to drop and Benn would have to juice and all parties were fine with it?!

Both parties were aware of the positive A sample week's ago and no effort has been made to have the B sample checked as they don't want to have it formed as a failed drug test - the fight would have gone ahead if it hadn't been leaked to the Mail.

Both sides are at fault here for not disclosing this (granted more so Benn for taking the supplement) but it's a shocking look for the sport again..........

The worrying thing is UKAD missed it. VADA which is a voluntary testing scheme were the ones who caught him there is no obligation for fighters or sanctioning bodies to use VADA testing. The questions now turns why did the small voluntary organisation catch him but not the professional body.

PEDs is sports is bad, but in boxing and MMA it's lethal.
