Contracts

I wouldn't be too concerned if any of them left, maybe Milner the exception, for his great versatility and reliability, but all can be improved upon.

FTR this is what I think will happen, not what I want to happen.

Lescott is 100% gone at the end of the season IMO. Probably only kept for this season because the Pepe deal didn't happen.

Richards they want to give a new deal to, Khaldoon said so in his end of year interview. I think Micah is stalling that one, probably to see if he gets enough first team football. If pellegrini rotates him with Zaba he'll sign. Bayern game implied he'll do that. I reckon Micah will sign a big extension in January, if he gets played.

Milner I think will get a new deal, but possibly on a pay cut, Good and important player for us, but he is on a big, pre-Soriano wage and I can see them having a problem with that. This one could go either way, but if he doesn't get a new deal he'll be sold next summer.

I think Kolarov will be sold in the summer unless he has an absolute blinder of a season. He is playing better but I don't see him getting a new contract tbh.

Dzeko - My feeling is he will be sold. Probably at a decent sized loss. The smart thing would perhaps have been to sell him this summer, but Pellegrini wanted to give him the chance and that's fair enough. Not convinced he's going to do better than the last couple of years here tho, and he'll go for 12-15 million as its his last year.

Nasri - I think Nasri is playing for his new deal this season. So far there's evidence he might just get it. But again, he's on a big wage and to justify that wage he has to be one of our most important players. Signs he could do that this season. But I think this all depends on samir.

Agree with everything.

Lescott will be up to him not unlike Kolo. Doubtful he will be 1st choice next season. Will he be willing to play limited games and take a pay cut? If he's willing to be a squad player then I can see them signing him on lower wages.

Nasri has to play well this season or he'll be sold. He needs to play well consistently to get a new contract.

I'm sure Richards is wanted. But like Lescott will he be happy with his role? Zab is certainly #1 choice so he may want to leave to get more 1st team. Hope he stays.

Dzeko has to be sold. Aguero and Negredo have to play over him. We've invested in Jovetic so he needs to get playing time to develop. Having 4 strikers dictates we have to play with 2 strikers to keep everyone happy, leaving us exposed in the midfield. If we lose a striker then maybe MP will be more willing to play with 1 striker.

Kolorov has to earn a new contract. Needs to show he can be counted on as a solid defender, to go along with his talents going forward. Clichy just extended his deal so he's gonna be here for a while. It's a position that needs to be upgraded if the club is going to progress in the CL.

Milner should be re-signed. He can play in a number of positions on the field which is important. His energy is infectious and a good locker room guy. Makes up for his lack of elite skills. Another player that will have to decide if he's willing to take less money and fewer mns on the field.
