So for me 10 core players, 10 door players and 8 AJAR players.
 
Good post Brucie - had this very same discussion with my son last night but I'd split them into 3 categories:

Core, Door & Or (as in 12 months to prove yourself Core or else it's Door)

Core - Hart, Zabaleta, Garrido, Kompany, Ireland, SWP, Robinho, Sturridge, Etuhu, Petrov, Bojinov
Door - Ben Haim, Berti, Dunne, Mills, Hamann, Benjani, Vassell, Evans, Elano, Castillo.
Or - Schmeichel, Richards, Johnson, Logan, Onuoha, Fernandes, Jo, Caicedo.

So for me that's 11 definites, 8 maybes and 10 goodbyes. So to be sure of a decent squad we need three good centre-backs, a couple of defensive/box-to-box midfielders and a couple of strikers. That would give us 18 first-teamers and the 8 "Or" players as back-up.

Plenty of changes required even though I've kept in Dunne and Richards they still need to be challenegd with 2 new centre backs

Then I suggest you cut and paste your complaint and bump every single thread since last January that even hints at a whiff of "negativity". Of all the times, and of all threads, for you to make this point. Do you want me to search your posting history now and see what you have been saying?

well please do... since your so eager to always have a go at other peoples opinions... dont think i read a thread here that you havent singled out one poster and tried in some way to ridicule that persons opinions... and no its not necessary to post it in every thread since most people read most posts so it only needs to be said a few times to get through... and i didnt have a go at you... i had a go on the original poster from MEN where you found it... still think that selling half the squad is just pointless... what point does that make... that we have a manager that cant handle players and get them to perform under him? Or are those players really that bad since most of them managed last year to finished 9th in the league under a different type of manager... i am well aware that we need to sell some players and add some new ones... but having the discussion now when all is underperforming for one reason or not or is having injuries and not able to work out a form is the wrong time for the assessment IMO...

those are the overhauls we need in the summer if we want to take the club in the right direction.

i agree with the only exception of elano out in jan as he is a troublesome baby who's spat his dummy out imo and would keep gaz as backup lb as he has come on alot. Would leave the mass exodus till june 1st apart from any trouble makers who les will know surely and if johnno sorts his problems out i would keep him as he was the 1 pulling the strings when were doing well (about 14 months ago)
