Daughter had Covid a few month back and last week received her first Pfizer jab. No adverse effects and just a numb arm for the day. When she caught it she was maudlin for a week, light headed and disorientated but no breathing problems.

Numb arm you say? Can you choose which arm?

It’s passed now mate thanks. 3 days feeling awful though, the wife was much worse than me and spent it in bed. Both of us fine now, worth it in the long run!
Good to hear mate.

Managed an 8k walk earlier. Felt weak & occasionally had to slow down but think I needed it. Will sleep well but this exercise is healing me mentally which is very important.

My mother had her vaccine yesterday btw. 80 and had no after effects whatsoever (Pfizer).

I’ve a feeling I’ll be ruined when I get mine!!

already on it mate! I think at last count over 3000 people has had it? Island population is around 90,000 ish but elderly and vulnerable people first on the list? I think we get around 1% per time of the vaccine when the UK gets it but hopefully going forward they expect to be doing more as more vaccines are made at a faster rate.
Cheers. One of my daughter's Uni mates is from IoM and I was wondering when travel restrictions might be lifted.

If I was 100 and still fit enough to enjoy it I would have been happy to get a freeby to Barbados. You take every chance you have at that age because it won't come round again. I admire him for having the guts to do it. We don't know where he caught Covid in any event but it must have been later than Christmas.
Probably the hospital.. but he could have caught pneumonia in the airport.
I agree with you regarding his age and last chance etc but we can’t slag Morgan off and all those ‘influencers’ in Dubai but then say that this is ok, he could have waited a couple of months before taking up the offer.

The Government's target is to offer 15 million vaccines by mid February. 'Offering' the vaccine has always been how the target is framed.

All they are doing is continuing to report progress towards their clearly stated objective.

Not sure why this is so difficult to understand.

Compare with sales.

Offering a test is the equivalent of making a customer call or visit. The salesperson has carried the necessary activity but not yet achieved an outcome.

Test take-up is the equivalent of the customer placing an order and the item being delivered.

Both are important, one as a prequel to the other. It‘s not difficult to understand.

Awful experience last night. My mum is 71 and in the last leg of her losing battle with cancer.
got to hers last night and saw her vaccine offer letter.
shes bed ridden now and as she said with a chuckle, “whats the point in having it done”.

its bad news that is magnified because of covid that gets me down. With not a lot of fun in life currently the shit seems ten times worse

god for a bit of normality!!!!!!

listening to Hancock last night talking about the south african variant, on the one hand he was saying it isnt any more dangerous than the normal covid just more contagious but on the other they are doing all they can to stop it including mass testing. Its clearly already here and in bigger numbers than they know given that about a third of people dont have symptoms, and test and trace isnt that effective, so all the mass testing seems a bit pointless especially if its not more dangerous. Unless of course it isnt?
