I’d expect redesign to have started already, though it may need more than one. Either way I think both doses will be complete by the end August, some of those in phase 2 may get already adjusted ones.
If redesigned boosters are needed for those being vaccinated now, I’d guess they will be single shots from November ish. Good thing is we should be capable of running through 30mill shots in a couple of months.
There's something in the news suggesting Astrazeneca talking about October as a date for a variant vaccine

Boris calls for a 6 pm national clap for Captain Tom tonight.
My wife has a slightly different view of him to most. She reckoned he was a ‘nasty bastard’ (her words & not mine) after reading extracts of his book where he was very insulting to his first wife and very dismissive of her obvious mental health issues. She was also disgusted that he was saying these things as his former wife was dead and clearly had no-one to defend her.

I doubt my wife will be clapping tonight...

That is likely when we will need to revaccinate the at risk population for the winter alongside the flu jab so makes sense to aim for that

Indeed they might even be able to combine into one jab eventually though this year it might be two like when you have a pneumonia booster same year as flu every now and then.

There is also the suggestion that ASTRA ZENECA jab reduces transmission.
Meanwhile, Macron and others continue to say this drug is not safe or not effective and UK taking risks. No evidence at all for these assertions. Disgraceful. Presumably, then, the French will not want any of this jab.

This really isn't true, as far as I know.
France and Germany have not said it's not safe. Neither have they said it's not effective.
They've said that in the over 65 age group, the trials have not provided enough data to be certain.

I'm sure AZ will be looking to fix that, but it is a perfectly acceptable ethical position to not allow injection of something which has no guaranteed effect.

Today's transmission report may well change that opinion as it may indicate a benefit, just as trials in the older agegroups would provide data.

The UK position is that there isn't data for the older groups, but that it has a benefit for younger agegroups and does not seem to have negative effects - therefore they've given an emergency use order for it.
