what more can anybody do than trust this government with its vaccine program. because the truth is we have nothing else at the moment. the numbers have fallen and deaths have fallen to lower figures and all round cases are down

but this indian covid variant is a summer virus and different to the winter one we had
its loves warmer weather and lives longer in the sun and UV light thats the different. if you think about it on touching something that not be cleaned in the past 20 minutes the chances are high with the indian covid variant

so am treating this with even more care and washing my hands even more. no mask are also a big issue and in crownded places a must and the government must not stop wearing mask in public ?

on a better note there is a tablet that's in the pipe line by pfizer ? its not a cure but could be better than the vaccine and will be given out over the counter and quicker distribution and could be available 24 hours a day

7 all settings deaths.

2027 cases. Nearly right with 1968 after last night.

That is actually 20 DOWN on last Saturday. But up 120 on Saturday before.

England only down at at 1614 versus 1742 last week.

But this total is without cases from both Wales and N Ireland not issued on Saturdays (though N I was last week). So likely around 150/200 down on what it should be. Last week only Wales was missing.

On the flip side it includes the catch up from yesterday from Scotland which might be about the same as the missing two nation data.

N Ireland cases and deaths - they now report - are missing today due to yet another tech issue not a decision not to issue on Saturdays like Wales.

Only 991 patients, who’ve tested positive for coronavirus, in hospital. Lowest number since Sept 15th. I’d imagine this will be the lead story on the news this evening.......

Sorry but that is not true. It is actually better as it is a bit LESS than that.

These are the UK numbers as of last night:-

Patients down to 965 - it was 39, 248 at the peak on 18 Jan - (fall of 38, 283 in 116 days) :- lowest since 14 September

Ventilators down to 124 it was 4077 at the peak on 24 Jan - (fall of 3953 in 110 days) : lowest since 17 September

England alone is 818 patients and 115 ventilators.

For full details check out my post on all the hospital data in here last night. A few pages back. With all the UK and England and England regional data.

991 is not even Friday's data.

I post this every weekday in early evening and Gov UK never catches up over the weekend so is usually 3 days behind come Monday.

BBC only noticed last night we went under 1000 in the UK a few days ago for that reason - relying on Gov UK not the individual nations which Gov UK for some reason are often a day or so behind in this number.

This is why I post every evening a full report as I get it straight from the source and it is as up to date as we can get.

Though like all the other key data hospital numbers are not now issued by anyone over the weekend. Just three day batches on Monday.

Dr Helen Wall, who is leading the vaccination effort in Bolton, said the target for Saturday was to distribute 4,000 jabs.
She said 10,000 people eligible for jabs had yet to be vaccinated in the BL4 and BL5 postcode areas, with issues like not having phone credit to make a booking often cited as a reason for putting off taking the vaccine.

Id like know how that compares with national figures? 10000 sounds a lot.

Bolton had another very significant fall in cases again today.

After falling from 189 to 135 yesterday it fell today to just 79.

That is only 11 up on last Saturday. By far the smallest week to week rise in that period.

On the face of it (no tech issues reported for England but these days you never know) that is very hopeful.

And matches todays Zoe App data reported earlier also.

Maybe we caught this rise just in time.

Wonder which variant we should be scared of next month...
You’re new to genetic mutation of viruses I take it.

It’s not a question of being “scared”, it’s a question of pure genetic evolution. At present covid is more virulent than a cold or flu and about 10x as lethal as flu. But as of yet, it’s currently less lethal than the 1918-20 pandemic (that killed around 50m worldwide and 18-20m in india alone. As. Of. Yet. But with the petri dishes that are India, Brazil et al, there’s no certainty it stays that way. So obviously the medical community and geneticists are absolutely right to urge caution. That’s not about scaring people. It’s about trying to eradicate it as best and as fast as possible.

It’s weird though, it’s never the posters or people I consider learned that seem to think covid is a scam or some sort of social population psyops.
