They will likely clarify the confusion over holidays - saying that amber has been redefined as a lighter shade of red instead of a diluted form of green. So hopefully now you will all understand what we are not telling you that we do not want you to do so that if you then do it and we decide later that you should not have done it because you thought you should then we can say it was your fault - not ours - for we had clearly explained to you what the situation was.

Is it not a neon shade of sunrise university copper gold? At least that's what Puma would call it if it was on our kit.

Seriously though yet again the inability to make clear messaging on Covid is rearing its head. We desperately need someone to be appointed as minister for clarity as that has been in very short supply throughout the pandemic and it is actually one of the most needed things.

Problem is a democracy has to walk a tightrope of giving people freedom of choice whilst knowing that every person who chooses selfishly puts lives at risk. Getting the balance right is hard and so much easier in an autocratic society that happily we are not.

But that is why we depend on good messaging and these press conferences have long since been just ego trips for famous TV presenters to showcase 'look at what I asked today' on the news. Not actual attempts to change minds and educate people about what is needed from them at that point in time.

You can see already today there are politicians saying radically different things on holidays based on their interpretation of words that are deliberately open ended in case they need to cover someone they like doing something they might not like but can later say was actually just an interpretation of the guidelines.

Government has to clarify not mystify. Whoever is the party in charge. I have said often in here over the months why messaging matters and right now as we open up people need that more than ever.

It’s not even that the messaging isn’t clear. They’re actually contradicting each other. I don’t understand their reticence. I appreciate they wish to give people some freedom of choice, but they had no problem with banning those of us in the NW from having people in our homes for months on end. Why they can’t keep people from going on holiday to certain places for a bit longer, I don’t know.
