My ex mother in law had her second jab, started feeling I’ll the next day, not up to doing anything for over a week.. She had her first stroke, didn’t recover very much , then had a second Stoke 2weeks after said jab.. She is waiting to die, it’s awful for my kids to see her like this ,can’t speak or even see properly.. No past medical history to give any clues this might happen .. Coincidence maybe, doubtful tho.
Sorry to hear that, I wasn’t suggesting there are no cases and sadly this could be one, only that it’s extremely rare and the chances there were 2 in one gym highly unlikely.

Unfortunately we are in a global pandemic, so being like a normal bad winter is as good as you are going to get. If we have 2 bad winters, with one in summer and one in actual winter, it will be better than an absolutely disastrous winter later in the year.

Yes, but this is currently like a normal bad winter in July… with all restitutions being lifted and cases rising set to top 100,000 or more.
It’s going to be a rough ride for sure these next couple of months.

But surely you can’t deny we have to give it a try.

Waiting for my local Lidl to open at 8.00....my usual hunter gathering time before it gets busy/insert your particular word for none conforming persons*.

Be interesting to see what changes are inside with screens & staff masks etc.

I'm not convinced the vaccines do much to stop the spread...

Stopping hospitals visits and major complications without a doubt they work. But actually stopping the spread, I'm not convinced.

Seems like the numbers are flying up as quickly as when we were all unvaccinated and it seems a bit odd that London being the least vaccinated part of the country has one of the lowest case numbers.

Hopefully by the end of September when everyone has had their second jab this might change but at the moment it doesn't seem to go with all the promise of much lower infection rates they were quoting when the vaccines were first being rolled out.
Yes they do.
Stats from India: As always it is a sliding scale.
Pfizer/Moderna:
Death: 99.6%
Hospitalisatipn: 96%
infection after 2 jabs+3weeks: 88% (Isreal figures suggest more like 70% but we'll stick with PHE research for now)
Astra Zenica:
Death: 99.6%
Hospitalisatipn: 93%
infection after 2 jabs+3weeks: 60%

Infection is on a sliding scale from sniffles thru summer cold to mild full infection to full infection.
You are less likely to pass it on if you get an infection too.

Ah but you can prove anything with facts…
