We won as we are the only ones with no restrictions. Look at Holland, tried beating us to it but had only 40% or so vaccinated, backfired massively.

Are you on drugs?

We have the highest incidence rate in Europe! The Netherlands reimposed restrictions to avoid getting to where we already are!

Israel has also imposed restrictions.

Our lack of restrictions isn't down to our vaccination status, it's down to our government choosing to live with a very high rate of COVID, and to take the risk of that accelerating. It's a high risk policy, and we've been urged by our own government not to use the freedoms(!)

All looking good over here thanks to early decisions made on vaccines. Imagine the mess with delta if we had started as slow as our European friends? Definitely still have some restrictions.
Is that a serious post?
Might have made more sense if our government didn't usher in the delta wave from India when they did. If they had red listed India when they should the delta wave would have been delayed not just for us but for the whole of Europe. Although we may just about have squeaked home with our vaccine programme to prevent a delta catastrophe, we're paying for it economically with the pingdemic.

ENGLAND HOSPITAL DEATHS

68 with 20 in the North West - only a little down from yesterday

As with yesterday a big catch up but as the other regions come into this now and it is not all NW then the rest far behind with the odd one or two we are in for some bumpy days of rising numbers here across the regions before NW falls. As NW deaths will always fall last of all the measures we watch.

As these deaths started at least 2 or 3 weeks ago when we had that sudden big jump in cases which as yet has not been replicated. But might yet - hence the 100K predictions of some scientists.

NW and Scotland flattening off - two big contributors - will mitigate the rises of other regions, which may not be as high as in those two as weeks of extra vaccinations have happened there before this rise began.

From deaths dominated by the NW we are now sharing these evenly and I am pretty certain NW will fall to 3rd or 4th place in the daily lists for the most deaths over the next couple of weeks as the lag kicks in.

All but sure now too - sadly -we will reach 100 England hospital deaths in a day in the next week or two.

But it is way less than where it would be with weeks of 40K cases but for how much less dangerous Covid is now versus how it was pre vaccine,

I think it’s still a bit early to talk about winners and losers.

I do hope that the vaccine rollout in this country means that this is the final step and we won’t have to lock down again though.

Top Tip - to avoid your phone pinging, just stick the fucker on silent ;)

I think that’s a bit negative.

The situation in the Netherlands is vastly different to ours due to their much much lower vaccine numbers.
