My mum is 73 and had the Oxford jab in Eccles today, she didn’t have to wait for the 15 minutes observation although said some people had to so presumably they had Pfizer. Could be basing it on age in some locations?
I posted on Friday that my mother in law had the Pfizer vaccine on Friday at Wigton Hospital in Cumbria and she said she was straight out afterwards. They told her to take paracetamol if she felt unwell (she didn't).

I am hearing far less ambulances.

I wonder if the people in Oxford got the Eccles jab? It’s been known to knockout plenty of things in the past.

I have a quick read and it doesnt say it is extremely likely to last longer , trials report findings and not surmising past that

At least five months is what whitty says, after that him and this paper on trials cant say, we cant assume as we are all different , hence i act like i can get again

Going to bed but will read it again tomorrow
Yeah just for reference the study I linked is the one Whitty refers to and quoted.

My friend who is on the vulnerable shielding list and 89 had the Oxford jab at the Etihad on Friday.

So it definitely is not being done on vulnerability or age here.

I am in two minds whether to tell her this news about the AZ vaccine. She was so relieved to get it after such a long wait.

I find it very hard to believe this government would risk lives in this way if there is truth in that story.

If I recall was not the keep you from getting it rate always low with AZ and whilst 8% seems improbably low its main asset was that nobody who took it got ill enough to need hospitalisation.

If that is true of over 65s then really it is a non story as that is the real big deal here and enough to make it better than Pfizer even if that one stops 10 times more from getting it but lets the rest who do have the same risk of dying.

Two sides to this story I think.

Not going to say anything to her until I know more or they blab on TV about it and scare her tonight.

As for youngsters who had their career plans messed up, they have to stay positive, it may only be a years delay, and it may be in something they'd never thought of before, so there could be eventual benefits longer term.
It's the youngsters I feel for. My 2 lads are typical, both careers stalled; youngest a barber in Albert Square, eldest just graduated with an IT job offer postponed. No travel, socialising, drinking, music. They'll bounce back, just like Manchester.

I guess you never stop worrying about your children.

I have a cat cover on mine , that might not be man enough for you though lol
Ha....don’t be so presumptuous....

....probably won’t be cats on it ;)
Girlfriend had a minor op on Saturday and yesterday asked me to do the hot water bottle for her, fucking air in it as I put the water in so it bubbled out all up my arm and wrist!! Fucking sore as fuck.
Haha...amount of times I’ve done that of late.
Need PPE dealing with these...

Manchester will bounce back like a coiled spring. We have energy and like getting pissed and watching football more than most!
