They’ve been missing since 1967 when Roy Jenkins stopped them patrolling our streets and they became reactive over proactive.

Can’t remember the last time I saw a police officer on foot.
My old man used to say that one of the biggest cons pulled on the public was the introduction of panda cars as it took the Police off the streets and made them more remote.
He also use to say that the role of the police was to prevent crime.
Sorry to go off at a tangent in this thread.

News from other areas:

Top of the tree Merthyr Tydfil - the only borough to have entered the 10,000 club - with a Pop of 10,050 today (ie at a minimum 10% of the population there have had Covid) - has now slowed down and only went up by a modest 33.

Burnley is closing in on joining it but had a drop in cases to just 78 and its pop score only rose to 9220 so has a way to go.

Knowsley on Merseyside is still having big cases 10 times what it was before Christas and with 241 today by 160 - highest Pop rise of the day - enter the 9000s at 9037. If it carries on at this rate it will be in the 10,000s too inside a week.

Liverpool up a bit and sill outstripping Manchester for cases easily at 491 today but well down on the 900 it was at 10 days ago. Pop score raced ahead of Manchester in that time too after being behiond all the pandemic.

Wirral also down to half where it was two weeks ago.
