I will keep up that sort of thing as well , covid is going to be about for a long time and it cuts down on you picking up a few other bugs as well

I will come up for a summer meet up if i am vaccinated otherwise no

moving away from handshaking makes sense going forward to me. Flu is bad enough and anything that helps the NHS is a bonus. We have to live but better cleaning and easy wins going forward make sense.

Because we have other over 80s etc in other parts of the country that need it. They will divert supply to other areas to make sure the top priority groups are all covered. Why should we start vaccinating people in lower bands when higher priority bands elsewhere need it?

Bolton 133 - up from 112. Total cases 21, 618. Weekly 835. Pop score up 46 to 7518. Weekly Pop up 16 to 287.

Stockport 119 - up from 106. Total cases 17, 396. Weekly 779. Pop score up 41 to 5929. Stays out of the 6000 club but only for at best a couple of days more. Weekly Pop up 4 to 266.

Tameside 108– up from 85. Total cases 15, 314. Weekly 675. Pop score up 47 to 6761. Weekly Pop up 13 to 298.
Just stays in the 200s.

Salford 102 - down from 103. Total cases 19, 699. Weekly 752. Pop score up 40 to 7611. Weekly Pop down 1 to 291.

Oldham 99- up from 68. Total cases 20, 005. A fourth borough tops 20 K Covid cases in past 10 months. Weekly 589. Pop score up 42 to 8437. Weekly Pop up 10 to 258.

Trafford 79 - up from 78. Total cases 14, 346. Has quietly become the borough with the lowest cases in GM as Bury had its blip. A run of 8 days sub 100 has helped. Weekly 555. Pop score up 33 to 6044. Picks up another 8 on Stockport's overall pop score lead cutting it to 115. Weekly Pop down 3 to 234. Best weekly Pop score in GM.

Rochdale 76 - up from 71. Total cases 18,178. Weekly 579. Pop score up 34 to 8173.Weekly Pop down 7 to 260.

Bury 61- down from 63. Total cases 14, 811. Weekly 501. Lowest weekly total. Pop score up 32 to 7755. Lowest rise today. Weekly Pop up 2 to 257.


A few ups and downs today but nothing too drastic.

it’s not great though either 4 weeks into a supposed lockdown and Tier 3/4 before that. Is it people just ignoring it do you think?

There are loads of small things that are easy to maintain and become normal, most is personal hygiene. Other things too Hospitality keeping up anti viral cleaning of tables etc instead or just wiping with a cloth, keeping hand sanitiser for customers as they enter. Not just pubs and restaurants either, football stadiums supermarkets theatres. As I posted earlier we’ll still go but hopefully there will be better awareness.
I wonder if when we are ill we will do what we used to laugh a asians for doing, and wear a mask to protect others, I doubt it myself but maybe. If we do though lets make it acceptable and not an object of ridicule it used to be.

I have said since the vaccinations started that we should just let the NHS get on with it and then we can see if we are ahead of the plan or not in mid February. I shared that link for info given the discussion around redirecting vaccines. I haven’t got a big problem with and it’s been happening where I live for a couple of weeks.

My opinion on vaccine distribution is a bit like when I used to take a strong interest in City’s team and tactics when we had mediocre managers. Now we have Pep, I just let him get on with it without comment. The vaccine roll out is going well with great scientific, logistical, clinical and volunteer input. We just need to let them get on with the job.

Oh it wasn't a dig at you mate it was a general dig at the way the fucking BBC report it that Hoyle whacks that on Twitter further fuelling a narrative that just isn't there. Totally agree with you by the way

People who have a lower risk of dying should get the vaccine before those with vulnerable conditions in their 80s? Thank goodness you don't have to make any important decisions.

Your point was valid.

there is no point vacinating if we have to continue to be locked away from one another.

the idea that we should stay locked down all summer when cases will decline naturally just in case the vaccines don’t work in the autumn is difficult to fathom.

lockdown fetishism is almost but not quite as odd as covid denial

also continues the good news:

Patients 28, 112 - down 459 on yesterday and 4795 on last week at 32, 907.

Ventilators 3336 - down 120 on yesterday (biggest fall ever I think) and 400 on last week at 3736.

Though sadly it needs to be remembered this means quite possibly many of them on these died.


This fall is excellent progress again though. Regional numbers will follow.

Sorry if this has already been posted but the 10.00 news on the Beeb reported that there were over 34000 in hospital which was no change from the report last night
I presume that they are using the 5 day old data figures as I trust HP's to be more up to date.
