Coronavirus (2022) thread

So what are you saying? That lockdowns have inadvertently caused more non-Covid deaths than the number of lives they were designed to save? Is that what you're claiming? Because if it is, I'd like to see some links that prove your point. I've a funny feeling that I'll be waiting a fucking long time.
well like i said only time will tell when we see the figures of the deaths caused by lockdowns but to think they dont matter and there have been thousands is ludicrous .

So why the first not the second. They were both pre vaccine, they were both to protect hospitals. What was the difference.
the vulnerable needed protecting for the second one . instead the young people ended up losing their jobs and the damage to the economy could have been curbed.

people go into hospital with broken bones or for operations but are covid free when they go in -a sizeable proportion of patients in hospital are contracting covid - patients in hospital interact very closely with NHS staff - January saw an average of 35k NHS staff absent due to covid issues - 100k + NHS staff refusing to get vaccinated - lets join the dots shall we........
I was in hospital for 3 weeks in January at the height of the Omicron surge.

I didn’t get Covid. I have no idea which staff were vaccinated and who weren’t. There wasnt a plethora of staff as there were loads off.

I still got my emergency surgery and didn’t get Covid. This was at a hospital that the press were saying the army were called into.

I saw elective surgery happening throughout January.

Who the fuck said they didn't matter? Of course there will be unintended consequences from lockdowns, especially the first one as we were totally unprepared for Covid. The second one was handled a lot better with far less appointments and treatments cancelled. But you have to balance that with how many lives they saved. If it was up to brain dead clowns like you and we never locked down at all then those 150,000-plus UK Covid deaths would probably have been somewhere north of 500,000. Or do those deaths not matter to you?

If you believe that for the second one why don't you believe that for the first one. You still haven't explained the difference. Also how do you protect the vulnerable ? lock them up. Many vulnerable work and many work in health care.

by the time the second one came around it was clear a lot of people did not have any money to live off due to reduced or know wages. people need money to survive which is not too difficult to figure out .

the lockdown must have worked wonders then! only 1800 a day! botched figures too not covid only deaths.

This is quite some argument, regardless of the figures nonsense.

Think about the logic here - "there were a lot of deaths, therefore lockdowns aren't effective"

By analogy...

Speed limits must have worked wonders then! Only 2000 people a year die on the roads!

The finacial help for the second was the same as for the first, again not a difference.

the vulnerable could have had some of all the government billions wasted to be used on them.
