Coronavirus: Football Discussion Thread

Yes, tbf, I do recall the article I read was quite frightening to read, but didn’t quote any numbers.
Got to to honest when I read it I didn’t have top level PL footballers in mind, who most likely have a significant level of cash behind them, but ordinary folk who may no longer be able to work, or live a healthy life.
Going back to the article you’d like to think they wouldn’t have put in a major article near the front on the paper based on one or two outlier cases.
Doubtless there will be thousands of people who might not get back to normal. C4 news, barely watchable normally, has run some good pieces on how big an impact it can have on those lain low by the virus and how arduous the recovery process can be.

Just had the email about all the cringe ways they are trying to keep us involved. Your name on a digital board as the players come out so they know you're "with them". Selfies displayed on the boards through the game.

Conveniently, they don't say that your seat may be covered by an advert.

Now that we know the date of the game against Livarpool. The Chief Constable of Greater Manchester Police has plenty of warning to cancel all police leave for that date. This is to have them ready to stop and blockade all roads and railway stations that come into Manchester. The Chief constable should also send a letter to his counter part at Merseyside police to warn that any Livarpool fans who try to come to Manchester will be arrested and fined the maximum possible. Once the fine has been paid they will then be sent home with a police record.
