Coronavirus: Football Discussion Thread

So every day we are seeing more and more facilities being shut down, in other words we are moving to almost total lockdown, aside from a walk outside and buying food and medicines. Yet on the headline sticker at the bottom of GMTV this morning all the I see is the premier league expected to push for the season to be completed. Just fuck off you arrogant deluded wankers!
 
What the premier should do is have a cut of date when the league has to be finished by! Or are they going to just say even if it’s in 12 months this league will be finished!?

I’ll say it again though until there’s is a vaccine for this how can any sport start?
 
This is all about money but to many sensible people out there your health and family comes before everything including wealth. Events are being cancelled left, right and centre but football thinks it can get the season finished. Give it up, it's over until at least August and very possibly even later. If we start later than normal then I would even advocate no international friendlies before 2021, no League cup or FA Cup for the season and then use those dates for league games. This might actually allow some rest in between games for all leagues rather than cramming in games. It might seem a tough decision to take but surely it has to better than trying to finish this season which driven by firstly money and secondly a desire to get the dippers over the line. I don't suspect anyone is thinking of getting Barrow over the line or seeing if Southend can pull off a miracle and stay up
 
I would be surprised to see the Prem start / resume with fans in the stadium before a vaccine is readily available
 
To think just 6 days ago despite all the evidence from all over the world and deaths they were saying the games would still go ahead last weekend. If Arteta hadn’t got the virus last Thursday the greedy fuckers might have squeezed one more weekend of income out of it. Over 1 million people could have been crammed into the stadiums a week before we’re on the verge of a total lockdown. Obviously the government were also an utter disgrace in all this too.

They are clearly following the advice form the experts or do you know something we all don't?
