Coronavirus: Football Discussion Thread

Why doesn't Boris tell them that any plan to resume matches will not be acceptable to the government. Threaten to sue the b@***ds big time (at least one billion) if any person contracts and spreads the virus during the games.

City stand to lose the least if they don’t play and maybe the teams in the relegation scrap. So there’s potentially 4 clubs refusing to play. The rest of the top 8 fuck them if they want to get together to hurry up the court of arbitration of sports decision. Sit tight and let them all pay the financial hit of the season being voided they haven’t got an owner like ours who could help the club survive. Their actions of jealousy, greed and sporting integrity towards one member premier league club will come back to haunt them.

Wonder if it'll come down to awarding 3-0 wins if a team refuse to play.
Probably. But as someone has already said isn’t the point of a fair league that both teams play each other home and away? The scum bags that run football in this country really have shown their true colours of late and I’m done with it all now

I agree with you 100% but such is the dips love in I'd not put anything past the powers.

The only thing that the those that run the Premier League are concerned about is helping Livarpool win the Premier League and money. They are totally not interested in the welfare of the players, if they were they would call the whole thing of now.

Surely this is bullshit. And this is 25 pages of discussion about media bullshit. I was hoping these hate journos would go out of a job during these days, they've got a captive audience. It's total bollocks of an idea, it would never happen, and any trophy awarded would be a joke cup/title.

Has anyone told the parasites that all unnecessary travel isn’t currently allowed. My guess is when they review everything over Easter it will be extended by another three weeks which takes us to early May. Even then people won’t want to gather in large groups for another few weeks for fear of another spike. The season is over

If a player refuses to play because he doesn't want to put himself and family at risk what can anybody do about it, they can't force him to play,
Or if clubs refuse, so not too put their players at risk, what can the FA do, surely the clubs are within their rites to refuse

I've been thinking about Spanish Dave's premature kid, who must surely be in a compromised category. Imagine going through everything he went through and then forced to put your kid at risk 12 months later in order to complete a league season where you literally have nothing to play for. Must be dozens of players with kids or partners or parents with asthma or whatever.
