The players union, led by the utterly inept and overpaid Gordon Taylor, should just put an end to this nonsense and say my members don't play until its 100% safe and fans are allowed back in.

They won't mate , 90% of PFA's income comes from television rights , they are just a lap dog for the Premier league , it would be like turkeys voting for Xmas.

I'm watching Sunday supplement now and the more they talk the more you realise what an utter farce everything they suggest is. I'm sorry but this season has to be written off and football not restarted until it is safe to do so.

What surprises me is that the Premier League & FA dont have some ruling incase a season cannot be finished, Eg Pandemic, Natural Disaster, War etc.

If they had insurance covering something like this it would ended weeks ago! Wimbledon have so cancelled and got they payout so lost next to nought.

It's great they're speaking out but sadly, like all football teams it's purely self interest.

If they had run of the mill games to play & were safe in mid-table you'd hear the brush wood.

Can you imagine the fall out if the season was voided , petitions , court cases , enquiries lasting 40 years , marches on Westminster , all night vigils , the Samaritans employing another 100k employees , all Dipper season card holders put on suicide watch , the blame game would be in full swing , i wouldnt like to be a Chelsea fan.

Seoul and China may have been able to shrug the virus off given geographical reasons? It emerged in Wuhan in the winter. Presumably it had been ready to make the leap from animals to humans for some while but it only did so in the Winter months. Coincidence? There's a lot of evidence building up that it's going to be seasonal like the Spanish 'flu in which case the UK's approach to fighting the virus is well thought out indeed. And this would also inform where and how you play football.

There is an option for penalty shoot outs if no result in competitions. It solves distancing and makes hygiene issues easy to apply. Players do not even have to fully change or shower after. Minimal chance of injury with no contact. Win, draw, lose according to pens scored from 5 by each side. New ball each pen. Could complete in a day, especially if more than one goal is used. All present can wear facemasks. However refs would have a problem blowing a whistle wearing a facemask.

Q. Why has no-one proposed this in the media?

A. Because it is equally as crap as all the other proposals to finish the season!!
