Coronavirus: Football Discussion Thread

The board of the Premier League, say that if they do not continue with the rest of the Premier League fixtures the integrity of the Premier League will be lost. I maybe mistaken but surely the integrity of the Premier League will be lost if they are going to play the rest of the Premier League fixtures at neutral grounds. How by playing at neutral grounds dose that uphold the integrity of the Premier League. This sure breaks that integrity by not allowing the reverse fixtures to be played at that teams home ground.

Let's face it the Premier League Board do not know what they really want. Nearly everyday they come up with another plan. The simple solution is to call the season null and void. Then hopefully we will be able to start the 2020/21 season on time in August with fans present. If this is still not possible then play the fixtures behind closed doors. On the proviso that any games played without fans in attendance the reverse fixtures is likewise with out fans.

It has to be either no champions no promotion and no relegation or completed warts and all. it can’t be something in the middle. There’s a few teams in the championship that are in the running for promotion likewise league one etc
Everything has a domino affect

There is a big misunderstanding around how the virus spreads. The biggest likely cause of spreading is via contacting surfaces with your hands. It works something like > infected person coughs / sneezes into hand > hand touches surface > uninfected person touches surface with hand then transfers to their face. Actually breathing it in is likely pretty rare. This is why washing your hands is the N1 thing and far more important than wearing a mask. And the Mask doesn't stop you breathing it in, it stops the infected person breathing it out (breathing alone is also low risk, coughing and sneezing produces the kind of liquid droplets it needs).

So pubs with all the surfaces and the enclosed space are very high risk, a football ground is pretty low risk as you don't touch that many surfaces.

What about players who are sweating with saliva seeping from there mouths being touch by another player's arms that are sweaty, and then that player inadvertently touching his face and mouth?

Does that seem safe to you?

Couldnt I sit in a pub garden with my mask on and drink my pint thought a straw ;) I thought the virus was an airborne virus as well as touch. If it's not airborne why am I wearing a mask ?

Football without relegation is madness but so is football without football clubs. There is a financial axe hanging over football that many of you are ignoring. Why would the Premier League even consider suspending relegation if not because there is a level of desperation?
Boo fucking hoo.
This is what the right and proper test should be used for.
But there’s too many parasites in the game, it’s about time to golden goose was killed.

I promise you, football will survive whether this year is completed or not.

This coronavirus will sort out the bosses of the football clubs as to whether they are in it for the money and prestige they get from running a football club. Those that are in it for they money they can take out will let their club either fold or they will sell. Those that are in it for the benefit of their community around the club will be trying to do their best so that the club will not fold.

The only reason they want to continue this season amid this Covid19 pandemic is that they need the money for their club. This is because the directors have taken far to much money out to line their own pockets instead of spending it on the club they are suppose to run.
