I should hope so too after that shambles. They were probably discussing how shite Kolarov was playing!

Anyone else think this is strange?

Not sure how it is strange spending 5 minutes discussing what went wrong, and how to approach the second half, before speaking to the players. With the possible advantage that the players have 5 minutes to reflect/stew while waiting for the manager?

I'm surprised this isn't common practice. It's still possible to go in and give the players a rocket, even after you've calmy discussed that you're going to do it outside the room - as I said, may even be more effective as the players will have had time to wonder what Mancini's reaction will be. But, having reflected for a few minutes, you might also decide to approach it a different way.

Or is it the Italian bit? Platt's been speaking Italian longer than Mancini has English. They've got a very limited time (and you never know who's listening) so makes sense to me.

This kind of thing will only be brought up when we lose. They may well do it in tight games, where we're winning or drawing, and we've gone on to get a result. But then it's not news is it?

if thats true and i'm not doubting it is, where was Brian Kidd? i'm sure he dosent speak Italian, surley he should be involved in and such discussions?
