---------------Given---------------

Zabaleta--Kompany--Lescott--Bridge

-----Vieira--De Jong--Johnson-----

--------------Tevez--------------

-------Adebayor--Santa Cruz------

I think its worth a go. we know Ade and tevez like to wonder so in having RSC up there too would mean there is always someone in the box.

I hate it when Ade is our target man and you see him overlapping the full back when on the wing then crossing it to no one.

I've been saying just this for some time now - Anelka and Drogba works like a dream for Chelsea and all the pundits said they could not both play at the same time - one of them would have to warm the bench.

Santa is great at winning headers and holding the ball up. Ade is great with the ball at his feet.................

Johnson and Viera whipping balls in for Santa and Ade to put away........................

Definitely worth a try and by the looks of it, Roberto is not scared to try new things and combinations.

only issue really is when the mid-game switch to 4-4-2 is made, as Bob like to do, it would involve Carlos having to switch to right wing.

not ideal but feasible.

I don't like and never before have picked a team on here, but i'd like to see this line up against Stoke.

Given

Richards Kompany Lescott Bridge

Swp Vieira De Jong Johnson

Tevez Rsc

Imo we should play a wide diamond when at home to teams we should be beating. We only need 1 defensive midfielder when at home so would use either De Jong or Viera at the bottom of the diamond.

.......................Given........................

Richards....Kompany.....Lescott....Bridge

.................Vieira/De Jong.................

SWP.................................Johnson...

....................Ireland.......................

............Tevez..........Adebayor..........

This way we would be less defensive and more expansive. SWP and Johnson covering the runners down our flanks. Ireland the creative midfielder we all know he is, pulling the strings. This would also solve the Tevez/Ade partnership problems too imo as Ireland would be there to create so no need for Ade and Tevez to be coming wide in search of the ball

swap bellamy for johnson and its even better.....

you could just play 4-4-2 instead of the diamond formation with those exact players...id have dejog over viera for most games

Thats a decent call mate, i think Johnson will probably take SWP's right wing place when Bellers is fit. The beauty of that formation is when we don't have the ball we can revert to a 442 to add abit of solidity to the middle of the park

dont think johnson should be in place of swp either....subs bench for the lad while he earns his place.....he has a long way to go yet and people are getting way ahead of themsleves with this lad...he is good and has potential.....but he hasnt reached it yet...lets see how he does over the long term.....on the left.....not the right hand side

I think he should after his performance on Tuesday night. He definately deserves to start in the next league game after that performance. I agree that some are getting carried away and i was myself after his MoTM performance but he is still young and ill get even better. The chances of him playing on the left for a sustained amount of time, are very remote as Mancini likes his wide men to cut inside onto their stronger foot but obviously with Johnson he is 2 footed so i guess we will have to see but it'll be exciting watching him if he carries on his good form

Why in the world are you dropping Ade with his current goal scoring form? And for RSC no less. That one's a bit loopy for me.

Agreed, but when we are at home I would prefer to see Patrick in there if he is fully fit. He provides an attacking mentality that NDJ can't. Then once we get up a goal or two, bring on NDJ as the midfield enforcer for Patrick to save his legs.
