Most of the places that have regular snow falls through the winter have much lower temps -20c+. When the snow is that cold it is light and fluffy so they can just blow it off, it's quick and easy. Usually the stuff we get is soggy or iced up, higher water content, much more difficult to clear. You what it's like to clear your own paths/drives.
I've been at Zurich and Calgary airports in mid-winter where they have had temporary runway closures due to snow, though just a short period, and they have all the kit money can buy!
As posted above, how often does it happen here to warrant the cost?
Anyway, according to Greta Thunderknickers we'll soon be having winter BBQs!
