Could we be poorly supported at the CS this time?

I'm starting to get nervous about this.....

I understand how you feel and when most of us leave early I'll struggle to look an opposition fan in the face again. I mean, whatever will they think of us ? What if the press latch on to our non-attendance and publish photographs of the empty seats circled in red?

It's a worry alright.

Worry? Worry? I havent slept for weeks about this. Then the powers that be at the club have decided to extend the stadium, what happens if we cant fill it? The ridicule will be too much to take on top of the charity shield debacle.

Ever since they announced the expansion plans I haven't been able to function due to simultaneously worrying and being embarrassed* about what the united fan who goes in my local will say if we don't fill it. I'm a constant bag of nerves.

*slightly more worried than embarrassed at the moment, but that could be subject to change.

The mystery of the disappearing upper tier seats. Ticket office say sold out but were they sold out to our fans or to agencies? Hundreds of tickets available in our end on ticket agency sites.

I would be very surprised indeed if the upper tier is anywhere near sold out. Usually it sells out last, for a start. I'd hazard a guess that city have decided they won't sell that many tickets so are selling block by block to make stewarding and staffing easier.

Do the club have to pay for unsold tickets or is that just away allocations? If so it would make sense selling the lower tier first.

There were literally choices in every block upper tier in every category online one day, next day they were only selling half the upper tier and the day after all off sale. Maybe sales took off but seems odd.

No chance they'll have to pay for unsold. But entirely feasible that wembley set stipulations about selling blocks in order. It costs a lot more money to have 15,000 fans spread around 30,000 seats than it does to have them all sitting together.

I think that's what's happened. I'd be stunned if it's anywhere near sold out.

With the tickets reasonably priced I'm guessing the gooners will snap up any available tickets making it a near sell out.

i was completely the opposite of you, we got a 26,000 allocation and i honestly would have thought we could have sold that amount , i know we always get those who cant afford to go or just cant be arsed but with our fan base i thought 26,000 would have gone, its not agreat amount for atrip to wembley against an atractive opposition.

It's a huge amount given the investment in time, effort and money required, and the significance of the game.

Our match-going fanbase is around 45,000 for homes and 3-6,000 for aways. Half that for minor cup matches. I cannot for the life of me see a take up from the majority of our home fans. Not on a Sunday with no trains.

Megabus to London is like £7. Easily affordable

Massive ballache though isn't it? I can see why people wouldn't bother for a meaningless match. If we'd not been to wembley in 20 years then maybe. And yes, I am going but can see why others won't.

FFS it's the beginning of the season & 17 of us are heading down on sat afternoon in a minibus stopping @ travelodge 6 mile from wembley &all inc cost pp is £55.00 7 rooms 3 per room 5 family rooms &2 double rooms easy peasy travel home straight after the match,,,,:-)
