Could we get 2nd place?

There’s a very giddy contingent to Arsenal’s fanbase which I find funny more than anything. They always get all hyped up and always fall short.

With the scousers though there’s this deep rooted sense of entitlement and a real paranoid cult mentality, they’re very nasty. Arsenal fans are annoying and talk a load of old nonsense but there’s not that same ingrained nastiness about them.

Arteta - honestly he doesn’t bother me. He’s playing to his audience and IMO fair play to him for learning his trade under Pep and doing a decent job at Arsenal.

All this is just my opinion and I know I am in a minority of blues who aren’t really bothered or offended by them.

With me I think it’s because in our darker times I always quite liked watching them, especially when they were going up against the rags. Some of those Wenger sides played lovely football, and I’ll always think of Wenger as being one of the all time greats.

The way he was treated towards the end was a disgrace.

In summary I think of a lot the shit that comes from arsenal fans towards us can be thrown into the “banter” bucket. With the murderers and the rags though it’s a lot more deep rooted and genuinely nasty. They can fuck right off. I’d support Arsenal over the dippers any day of the week.
The arse have been key cogs in trying to destabilise and destroy the club using ffp/psr. They coined the phrase financial doping due to our accession.

They have actively engaged with other teams to ruin our reputation and tarnish our achievements.

Sorry I don’t agree with the viewpoint.

Arse dips rags all deserve a place at the top of our hate list. Fans of the cartel are all wankers under different badges waging the same war on competition.

All should be treated the same imo.

It'd be funny to see Arsenal finish below us given how awful we still are.
I can see Arsenal getting spanked by PSG and they'll go to Anfield feeling tired and demoralised so Liverpool will most probably give them another spanking. A week later they host Newcastle and it could go either way but I think it'll be a draw. Providing we win all our games we could finish 2 points above the Arse.

If that is to happen I might even watch the meltdown on AFCTV: )

Spot on. The cartel clubs - most have net spent more than us for over ten years - they can't handle the fact that we are way more successful than them playing a unique brand of risk and reward football. And these cartel clubs - cheeks of the same arses.

Arsenal's form since January has been shocking. They've only won 7 of their last 16 games. They've dropped 21 points from winning positions all season. This will be, what, the fourth spring in a row where they've shat themselves? This was meant to be their season and they're at serious risk of finishing fourth in what was meant to be a two horse race. They have got to have the worst mentality from an apparent "top" club that I think I've ever seen.

Let’s hope PSG beat them! PSG in this comp have had spectacular collapses from far loftier positions.

Come on PSG we are rooting for you!

Some ending to the league for us this season that, after the way things have gone.

Really, we need Newcastle to drop points now to secure second. Their remaining fixtures are Brighton away today, Chelsea at Home, Arsenal away then Everton at home.

Probably the best chance of that is today or the Arsenal game, but I have a feeling that we'll need all 9 remaining points available to us if we're going to do it.

We also need Arsenal to not win two of their final three games, Liverpool away, Newcastle home and Southampton away, primarily due to the goal difference as finishing level on points is probably no good to us beyond the symbolism. Liverpool should be up for giving their supposed closest title challengers a game, so I think we'll really need that Newcastle vs Arsenal game to be a draw, unless Newcastle drop points to Brighton today.

Only one of Chelsea and Forest can get the maximum twelve points, as they play each other final game, that's still not enough to overtake us if we win all our remaining games, but is enough for one to overhaul Arsenal if either went on a 4 match winning run and Arsenal picked up less than 4 points.

Given Chelsea have Liverpool today that would need to be some run that started immediately. If Forest beat Palace away then it may set them up very nicely to do that, given their other games are West Ham and Leicester away before the final game vs Chelsea. Chelsea on the other hand would need to get wins against Liverpool today, Newcastle away, the scumbags at home and finally Forest away.

Will be clearer after this weekends' games are completed, but I think it is between us and Newcastle for second and third, and Arsenal are looking at a fourth place finish and a proper hissy fit that would make my teenage daughter's attitude look like prime Gandhi. If either Chelsea or Forest morph into 1970s Brazil, that could even become a 5th place finish.

Either way, I trust that every team will be reminding Arsenal to stay humble at every opportunity. It's all well and good giving it the big 'un, but at some point you have to back it up.

Given where this season has taken us, to be in a position now where winning two of three remaining games secures us champions league football, or winning all three gives us a great chance at finishing second, I think we can call this latter half of the season for us excellent blotted only by that dire old trafford game, and proof that we have the right people in place to continue being a competitive football club for many seasons.

Is the title on next season? Don't know, quality needed in the summer for sure, but it will be nice to see how Liverpool would cope with some actual pressure on them by the time things start to get serious, and how Slot will cope with the remit of building his actual team rather than playing with Klopp's, given that they may well face a drop off similar to ours if Salah and/or Van Dyke feel that extra year a little more after three games per week.

That would be funny actually and as I’ve said several times on here I don’t hold anywhere near as much ill will towards Arsenal as other blues do.

My hate is reserved for the dippers and rags, and it burns with the energy of a thousand suns.
I felt the same up until 2 or 3 years ago.

But a couple years of their utter fuddery has changed that.

Nowhere near the other two mind, but just enough.
