Could you/would you take in refugees

Lunch followed by a nap? I’m beginning to think you live in an old peoples home. Or your mums basement/attic.

I can’t be arsed to educate you on what an English country estate is - but suffice to say that given you clearly don’t know - it rather questions the validity of your other posts. But by all means take a snap of this estate of yours and prove me wrong.
Chatsworth estate is my guess

Congratulations, genuinely happy for you.

Still not sure why you felt the need to bring your house up unless you’re a show off or a fantasist, either way out of place for this thread.
Proper sad to come on and see that there are quite a few pages to catch up on this thread - and therefore think that there must be some news on the process to be announced - only to find the pages taken over by some self-obsessed egotist/fantasist

Stick a 4 in front of the figure and I will let you have it and I will even throw in the prime development land that surrounds it. There you are, overcrowding sorted out by a figure 4. You have only got 6 months to complete the buy and build because there will be a huge demand for them in around October.

Lol. I'm not wound up. You are beneath contempt. Flashing the money about but absolutely bereft of any values.

Only very insecure and needy people have to use threads about destitute refugees fleeing war to boast about their personal wealth.

Now go away. There is only so many times that you can shit on the floor and wipe your arse with £50 notes before it becomes just sad and pathetic rather than creepy and weird.
Got to be a lottery win.

No no no no no. Live in a huge 29 roomed house just me and the Mrs. Main problem is once they are in and get very cosy, they are not going to go home . They should be kept as close to the border as possible and returned to their motherland as soon as it is safe. We are a tiny island without the infrastructure to cope with additional refugees on top of the illegals, the Afghans, those from Hong Kong and all the Commonwealth citizens who wish to settle here. Just my opinion which I am entitled to.

I'm sure your house is lovely. But what good is having a massive house and a lavish lifestyle if you couldn't help a couple of families who are living through hell?

There are different types of people in the world. I genuinely think I'd get much more happiness out of helping a few families out (even if it turned into years) rather than rattling about in a house with 28 empty rooms.

All these refugees have to go somewhere, so it's only right we take in a good proportion of them (considering the historical benefits Britain has gained from our colonial past).

100% not mate. Scallies they might be but they would still open their doors to Ukrainian’s seeking refuge - decent people who would make better use of a few quid than Scrooge McDuck ;)
Chatsworth Estate is the fictional estate in Shameless.

What a calm sensible post. I cannot put an argument together against any points you make. Unfortunately it’s just not something me and the wife want to do for a multitude of reasons. One other poster said earlier that, rightly or wrongly the vast majority will think like me. Those that say I would like to help but can’t, fair enough, but nobody has followed it up by saying I will give x% of my income to help out instead By volunteering some one else’s property instead is a cop out. That’s not helping them out, that’s telling some one else to do it. Most if not everyone feels a great deal of sympathy for the refugees who wouldn’t . In the real world however, when those who genuinely want to help and I am sure they will make every effort, when it comes to heh lads heh will, on careful reflection say I would like to, but... It’s a hell of an unlimited commitment which very few in the real world will be able to handle. I just hope there is a thread started on here about those that do and how they are coping and..... I am still around to see it. If there are more than 3-4 I will be very surprised.
