Council tax question

I’ve been here roughly a year , but I’m concerned if I register myself to reside in Bolton tomorrow will it flag up on the system that I’ve been unregistered for over 5 years ?
they will ask where you've come from, but you can legitimately/truthfully say why - you have nothing to worry about

I went thru this with the Council- just tell em you had no fixed abode and stopped at many addresses over the years it went ok they accepted that

Just got my 25/26 council tax bill from Trafford, the increase is 7.6%.

They also want to charge £50 for green bin collections (£45 online).

If I were to pay the £45 my increase would leap to 9.6% per month.

I shall be taking my garden rubbish up to my sons and putting it in his Manchester Council green bin as he only has a small garden.

Stick it in your black bin, all these charges will just make people fly tip.

It is the property that attracts the tax not the person. The poll tax was abandoned with Maggie. You just have to give a date you moved in to the property. If it is occupied just by you yow will get 25% single occupiers discount.
for now there talking about scrapping 25% discount

This green bin cost has been in Warrington for years. I didn’t realise it wasn’t in everywhere. Warrington gone up by 4.9% this year.

Basic utility food and housing costs are so high now in this country.

There must be a problem looming for many when their mortgages come off low fixed rates.

Wonder how many couples stay together now because they can’t afford the alternative.

Mines going up from £97 to £102.

Can’t complain at that really. A fiver.

My mum has lost the £300 winter fuel allowance.
A £50 green bin charge.
She's lost the free tv licence £167.
Basically £10 a week she has to find from her pension.

She is 90. I'm going round this morning as she is worried about her council tax which has gone up by 7.5%

It's fuckin' shite.

Ours has gone up from £170 pm to £175 pm. Band B property in Boston.

We've decided to knock the £50 green bin charge on the head and just bag it up and put it in the normal bin.
