No Doubt's cover of "It's my life"

A great song anyway but improved by the increased bass

You need shooting for liking that rubbish...the original was far better.

Anyhoo...

Suicide Is Painless (from MASH) - Manic Street Preachers

The Manics have a great tradition of doing brilliant covers. My fave is their version of Andy Williams' 'Can't Take My Eyes Off You.' Even had that for the first dance at my wedding. They also did a tear inducing version of 'Bright Eyes,' and 'It's So Easy' (GunsnRoses) is good too.

Nirvana - Return Of The Rat, D7, Where Did You Sleep Last Night, and their version of Jesus Wants Me For A Sunbeam is brilliant.

Commendations too for Ultrasound - 'Hey Hey, My My'
and Joyrider, doing Kate Bush's 'Rush Hour.'

Got to agree with the earlier posters with regards to The Stranglers version of Walk On By.

Good shout with the Lemonheads, they do a lot of cracking covers.

I'd totally forgotten about those two. I used to love The Lemonheads.

Haha! I just clicked on this thread because the title made me think of the Lemonhead's version of Different Drum...

Surreal but true story. I remember years ago coming home from work and finding Evan Dando in my living room playing Eve Of Destruction by Barry McGuire on my battered old acoustic guitar. I've always said he should have recorded a version of that as it's a genius song which suited him perfectly...

He was the coolest man on the planet for a bit our Evan. Then he went on tour with Oasis and lost his mind.

Lightweight.
