Cover versions you think were better than the originals

We will have to agree to disagree.
I loathed and still loathe synth electronica (I won’t call it music).
Alison Moyet had a good voice but wasn’t my cup of tea.
I thought the Pickets were superb.
I think I might change my album choice this week just to upset you Denis ;)

each to his own but there have been some spectacular tracks from the electronic genre… Tunes that will certainly stand the test of time… Depeche Mode and Vince Clarke (and his many collaborations) leading the way

The sound of this track blows your mind, feels so funky, so soulful for the best British band that never made it big in the USA. they said about the jam that they were too British ? Weller and the jam always had soul, did many a tribute to the roots of the USA music scene even in the early punk days,

I've previously demurred from posting this cause I know Neil Young fans are a dedicated bunch, so I'm going to say this is as good in it's own very different way.

Margo Timmins's on stage aesthetic has subtley changed over the years, she started as typical alt.country, then morphed into a 'wasted soccer mom' vibe and I now I think she may be about to start a stoner granny phase. She's marvellous.
