Covers that sound bettter than the originals

The Unthanks version of King Crimsons Starless is stunning. Different rather than better.
Ram Jam - Black Betty
Johnny Cash - Hurt
Pain of Salvation doing Cohen's Hallelujah is pretty damn fine.
 
It's partly how shit it is that appeals to me. He sings it like he couldn't give a f**k. But I can see why people would dislike it and also how they might consider the original a classic.
Love the Vicious “My Way,” but it’s hard to bear Sinatra’s version. His cover of Paul Anka’s song is the standard, and anytime a cover becomes the standard, that tells you something.
