Talking about it at work and it can have huge implications for the fire service if I get it that’s 7 people on our watch who could have it, plus the other watches. Could mean the station is shut down however we get sent other stations etc you can see how this could snowball, pretty soon the fire service would be on its arse.

Over 60s told to avoid crowded places, best play Madrid at the academy stadium or the place will be empty.

On a serious note, there has got to be a strong possibility of the season being binned...

Strong possibility? I would say there’s more chance of Boris Johnson winning dad of the year than Liverpool not being awarded this year’s title. Wont they just finish the season off by playing games behind closed doors, with extra televised matches? I can only see the season being cut short if players start picking up the virus. If they do cut the season short they’ll probably decide that the final table will be determined by average points per game.

I think there’s a much greater chance of the CL being binned because of the problems caused by different countries imposing different restrictions.

I’m not sure what they will do about the FA Cup. I’m sure it was safe for those attending yesterday’s game, but by the time we get to the semi finals and final, playing three games at Wembley with all of of the underground congestion probably wouldn’t be allowed.

I am not sure they would play what could be as many as the last 8/9 games behind closed doors. Lets face if the over 60s advice is genuine you are in essence telling a good proportion of match going supporters not to attend. Thats not going to go down well.

As for what they would do about the pricks up the road winning the League. As it is them I suspect they would find a way of awarding it to them.

It has already been suggested that they may not complete the season in Italy.

Judging by the infection rate rise I can see no other option than to abandon the season, apart from denying Liverpool the relegation spots would be in the air too. I suspect they'll kill the Euros and finish the season off then if they have the contagion under control.

There's some practical problems with finishing a season after 1st June (when a lot of player's contracts are up and would hence become ineligible to play), it could put some clubs at a disadvantage. Best to just cancel it and start again.

;)

Only fair and equitable outcome, really.

This is mass hysteria.

the problem here is that a lot of people keep saying this is like the flu - it’s not for reasons already cited but furthermore you can see from the below article a couple of days ago that this virus has a modification in its biological make up that the other Coronavirus do not have which has also been verified independently by two other European labs.

of course there is hysteria and probably a bit overblown but I just don’t think we should be walking down the other end of the spectrum until this virus has been more carefully studied.

These findings have huge implications on the potency of the coronavirus and also what it can cause in humans, not just the Covid-19 disease. Furthermore, the Covid-19 disease should never be compared to like the common cold or influenza virus as this new coronavirus is in a separate league of its own.

Though it has not been peer reviewed, two other studies including one in Europe has confirmed the findings.

The combined findings from the three studies indicates that because of the HIV-like mutations, its ability to bind with human cells could be as much as 1,000 times more potent that the initial SARS virus of 2003.

It is very clear from the worldwide concern that there is something that is causing those in the know an unusual level of concern.

I certainly do not trust our government lead by the oaf to be truthful and have no doubt he would put the economy before the health of people.

I would take more notice of the WHO than our lot.
