It is baffling and also puts paid to the nonsense sunlight and heat kills it, as it is thriving in hot countries. A nagging worry is they know more than they are telling the public but obviously can't release that information as it could really lead to anarchy and panic.

Your sources are all "Taiwan says", as in "Taiwan said its doctors had heard from mainland colleagues that medical staff were getting ill — a sign of human-to-human transmission." Original source? Certainly not their Centres for Disease Control. (Someone said in the UK today it was only like flu...)

You've backtracked from China knew it could be passed between humans. And that Taiwan knew. Now it's "Taipei had written to the WHO in December (the 31st) about H2H contact, whether they had absolute evidence or not". They didn't have absolute evidence. They asked if it was possible, so by "whether they had absolute evidence or not" you mean "even though they had no evidence that it might be".

Yes my sources such as the Financial Times did say that, what’s your point? Taiwan spoke out this week about it. Their CDC may not have done at the time because as discussed, the political atmosphere between Taiwan and China is incredibly broken currently and they didn’t want to make it public knowledge at the time.

They did inform the WHO and 196 different countries, though, as the article you haven’t properly read states. As well as taking precautions and measures themselves, immediately, to stop this becoming an epidemic in Taiwan.

That’s not covering it up. It’s normal to withhold information initially to your population to stop mass panic but they informed other nations and those that need to know, the WHO to be precise and were ignored.

It’s not just Taiwan, as a neighbour, that have this feeling towards China, Japan are absolutely furious with them too.

Again you’re not taking in what’s being said. Their evidence was messages being relayed that doctors were picking it up - THIS IS EVIDENCE.

They went to the WHO with it and were ignored, having still not had a response.

China lied to the WHO and other members of the UN. I’d understand if they had initially suppressed the truth to their population to stop mass panic but I’d have expected them to at least publish their true deaths figures by now, that they’re blatantly covering up still.

What’s not acceptable is lying to other countries about this kind of thing and lying to the WHO.

I've been back in work since yesterday after a period of self-isolation and I'm disappointed I haven't been pulled over yet.

Seems to still be far too many people out on the roads.

I`ve only just found out that my son actually walks to work and back (some 9 miles return).He usually shares a lift with a work colleague but now thats against the "law" (travelling with NOT members of the same household).My missus has just told me that he didn`t want to "put pressure" on his old fella by asking for a lift.
Suffiice to say I will be having a word with him on his return tonight.As he`s told his Mum he`s a very fit young man of 28 so it wont do him any harm the walk.Some weeks after a 10 hour day I don`t want him thinking he`s then got to walk home.

Knowing nothing about virology or professing to I wonder if the flu jab makes any difference to the way people get covid 19.Does it make the body produce antibodies that can make it less aggressive or give a certain amount of protection although not totally t o make the symptoms less severe. Just a thought

The weather over there isn’t much different to here at the minute tbf. Most of Europe is the same as well.

I’m not sure it is thriving in any hot places currently. Actually i suppose you’ve places in America where it is.

You're right there some things which are not seeming to add up here and I'm definitely one for tin foil hats... Have a look at this article from the L.A. Times about a choir that used hand sanitizer and observed social distancing. On the 10th March, 60 singers showed up and 45 of them tested positive, 23 hospitalised and 2 died.

I did say to the missus that I hadn`t heard about this,but I suppose in reality it does make sense.However my arguments would be that if working together (its only an 8 man company) then its just as likely to catch the virus anyway.Maybe the young bloke is using it as an excuse (and thats fair enough if he is) but you have to ask why it isn`t being enforced.Maybe it is ??
