at the risk of starting a prolonged debate I believe the good doctor not you, or more precisely your (as yet undisclosed source) for that assertion.

I've added the source.

Here's the Guardian reporting it as well

IMO what you've got here is a doctor relying and believing in the old way of doing things when we're not in a global pandemic, and a journalist being told about how people in Asia are adapting to the new way of things to cope with an imminent emergency.

Yes, I think he's right that antibody testing isn't 100% accurate until weeks after you've been infected, but we don't have time to fuck about for 28 days for 100% accuracy and we don't have the capacity to PCR test 100 million times and wait 4 days every time. 95% accuracy that the Thai trial has reported or even 90% accuracy is good enough because if you combine it with isolation and PCR the 10-20% positives to confirm, you've reduced your PCR test need by 80%.

I'll donate £100 if she answers the door dressed like Pete the badge.
Ha. I tried:

this is what she’s put out:

Bless I think she thought I was being serious about Pete the badge. (“Pampa” is my Dad’s ashes behind the star as she wants him on tv as well - its a strange family) She’s also struggling typing “with”.

Edit: she asked me to post this link if anyone has a spare fiver for a great cause:

Can she throw in City references too, maybe players names if they’re not too obscure?

A strange family you say, who would have guessed, or are you the normal one? I know I am in my family.

Ha. She’s also got a City water bottle, City pencil case and she’s put a picture of Kompany lifting the PL trophy on the fridge.

I’ve created a monster.

edit: she’s up for getting player names in! This is great.

The expert is wrong. In Thailand the antibody test for IGM and IGG that he is talking about they have tested was positive when people were still symptomatic.

So Peston was right, other countries are using the antibody test to not just see if someone had it, but if they have it right now.
The article posted says it hasn't got approval even in Thailand yet and is undergoing trials?
