Yeah to say it's rural around here is an understatement, if you take the entire population of Idaho and Wyoming it's less than greater manchester and three and a half times the size of England.
Don't get me wrong, I just saw the article and was just wondering on people's thoughts. Seemed pretty crazy but thought I'd air it here for people's discussion
Having spent nine hours driving through Idaho and Wyoming I know just what you mean. I’m looking forward to going back to do some horseback riding.

There isn't a lockdown in Sweden, but people are following social distancing rules.

You can basically split Sweden into Greater Stockholm with 2.2 million and the rest of the country 8 million. About half of cases over the last few days have been in Stockholm. There are about 30 deaths/day in Stockholm and that has been stable for over a week.

The rest of the country is doing much better. Even in Gothenburg and Malmo which have a few hundred thousand people each, the number of cases have been low (21 and 13 deaths in total).

The guy who is in charge, Tegnell, has been dealing with epidemics, on the ground, for 25 years. He seems to know his onions. His press conference was interesting today because he also showed cases of influenza and novovirus have plummeted because of the social distancing rules, which shows they are working.

It's a wreckless risk of peoples' lives IMO.

If they get to the other side and have survived it with compared mortality rates to other countries, but without the financial impact, my view will be that they got away with it. Not that every other country screwed up.

If you are offered a grand for a shot to your head with a revolver with a single bullet, and you live to bank the grand, it does not make it a great decision.
If they get through this with low levels of casualties, without millions of people losing their jobs and countless people suffering the detrimental effects to their mental health that comes with a lock down, I’d say that makes it a brilliant decision and a great credit to the maturity of the Swedish people.

And if they don’t ?
