Search for the charts shown today, I'm not doing it for you, there were various charts showing the amount of each variant, the old one in the southeast is rapidly declining, the new one rapidly rising (6 day old data), they even showed a chart from when the new variant overtook the old one in testing, it coincided with the rapid increase in infections, was about the 10th Dec.

Lol cheers, a bunch of graphs and charts to fit a narrative then? Ok then

Even if you do not read my GM scoreboard as I understand a lot will not - please give it a go today. See above.

I think we really need to understand how in 2 weeks so much has flipped and all the good GM boroughs are going up and up and the two boroughs who are really why GM has been in a form of lockdown since July - Bolton and Wigan - are out of nowhere the two best performing and now have the lowest weekly Pops - behind all the boroughs even Hancock and Burnham were debating about going into Tier 2 in past few days - Trafford, Tameside and Stockport.

Tier 2 for them and not Bolton and Wigan now looks crackpot today. Just days later.

They will see it in a few days when their data catches up.

Now ALL behind Wigan and Bolton. Some by a lot.

If we can work out why it might help others figure out what to do to get through this mess.

So you think they make them up ? The scientists have the test data, not just covid tests, but the genome scientists, that is how it's presented to government at cabinet meetings etc, so you think they're lying then ?

No, I think that's their interpretation, I think they ( The government ) aren't listening to the other side who are equally arguing against what is going on now and relying totally on one party. There are people far smarter than anyone on this thread who don't agree with any of whats going on. It's easy to confuse people with data and graphs, it's not so easy to have a debate with the opposition.

With most going up, Tier 3 obviously isn’t really working as a policy. I’m not sure if most are wearing masks and distancing, how it’s continuing to rise, other than the variation is here and it’s spreading in shops via that.

Well there is schools too, but it will prove how impactful they are over the next 3 weeks.

Are there, you'll need to point at them and clap, they said there would be no second wave, I expect their head is firmly stuck in the sand right now (at least they won't catch covid there as it doesn't dig).

The tiers have not really worked for many reasons we have discussed. But I am puzzled as to why those worst impacted areas for the first half of the past 5 months restrictions and were up in the hundreds driving GMs big numbers even in October are now far better than the rest and almost back to Summer like levels when everyone else is climbing.

Have they reached a kind of localised herd immunity after they had so many cases over months in relatively small areas of population. Or have they peaked faster. Or are their cases the wrong type of Covid (not the super strain?)

There are several options but something has changed in the past week or so that is clear.

Of course, they might both start rocketing up now - just behind the curve.

But right now this looks a very odd switcheroo.

I'd rather do that than clap the nhs haha. My parents GP has a right good year, done sweet FA for 9 months. The second wave is basically what we see with flu season, summer was dead, winter it rises, same as any year. Anyway your experts projected 4,000 deaths a week, they're further out wouldn't you say? Or was that an informed calculation based on data and graphs?

Whilst the climb is small, they'll say it's "under control", it was "under control" in the southeast under tier 2 four weeks ago, it patently went out of control three weeks ago, and it took them a week to realise, and a further week to have enough data to confirm, hence the government panic last Friday (when enough wasn't done), and further government panic today (when enough still probably hasn't been done)

Unfortunately the Friday panic wasn't addressed until Sunday, so it's very likely the new variant made a dash for it, northwest, west, southwest, and northeast by train before the new rule kicked in, so it's now likely spreading amongst unsuspecting tier 2 and tier 3 regions.

I'd put you on ignore, but unfortunately as a mod I don't have that privilege, you're an idiot that is clear enough (feel free to report that).
