Most are from this cluster in Aberdeen aren't they rather than be spread around the country?

54 from the cluster in total (as in not 54 from today's figures alone).

From today's figure of 64, 36 new cases are in the grampian region where Aberdeen is. Still leaves 28 new cases which is a helluva lot from where we were a few weeks ago.

A week ago today Scotland had 22 new cases - 0.7%. Wales had 32 - 0.9%.

As I said earlier the key is this number of cases found per number of tests and so today's 1.3% reported by Scotland means more than raw numbers. It is even higher than in England yesterday - though possibly not in the North West.

That’s a shame to read. I wonder if there are any links to people travelling in and out out of Aberdeen with the gas / oil industry?
It’s possible. From photos the pubs were absolutely rammed on Saturday night with little regard for social distancing. It shows it only takes a couple of days to take off again. Bloody hellish.

10,000 infected people believed to have been allowed into the UK between 13 and 23 March as the government waited to lockdown and did not restrict travel. According to experts from London school of tropical medicine.

Seeing how fast this spreads now months on how many lives did that mistake cost?

We have to be sure not to repeat such errors and learn from them.

The government say this is incorrect. But it seems counter intuitive that not stopping infected people to enter without self isolating in those 10 days was irrelevant.

One of the two mistakes that can be pined directly on the Government - the other failing to outsource testing from PHE to any lab that could provide capacity.
Masks is the biggest but that one can be pinned on our health establishment's "We know better than the far east" pseudo racist bollox. Then there is lockdown being late but that one is definately on SAGE as Cummings suggested locking down a week earlier.

They are still saying the science told them to act as they did. But who is to blame is far less important than not repeating the mistake by stubbornly insisting it was not actually one in the first place.

Nobody expects this situation not to have led to errors of judgement. We all must expect honesty and an ability to see when they happened and ensure no repeat.

Lots of people seem to think they are bullet proof from the virus but anyone can get it. Two hairdressers at a barbers nearby went down with the virus at the end of last week and the shop was shut over the weekend.

Most people will be paying normal price for drinks etc. The half price food / snacks is effectively a promotion to get people to buy during the quiet part of the week.

just been out to little Portuguese cafe in alty

steak two eggs and chips
2 Peri chicken and feta salads
A coke two coffees

16.50 quid !!!!
