what does this one mean?

That one's easy. Deer being chased by startled red squirrels.

Explains why there's not as many confirmed cases. No tests, no positive results. What could possibly go wrong...

Been 2 hours since I got fobbed off by 111, I called my GP immediately after to try and arrange a test via them. They said they'd get a doctor to call me. The woman on reception seemed as baffled as I did by the advice given by 111. Not heard anything on the 2 hour drive home.

My chest and ribs feel very tight, still got a temperature and a dry cough. I'm gonna lye low in the house and if things get worse call an ambulance later (never called 999 in my life). I've wasted enough of my time on the NHS today, following their protocol.

Kept kids off school.....

Had Headteacher on the phone, she has informed me it will go down as unauthorised absence.

Conversation was pretty much her spouting... the current public health England guidelines are children should be attending school any absence will be unauthorised.

Asked me to support the school and reconsider sending my child back to school.

school was a safer place then mixing with the general public (I pointed out child would be in home isolation or house arrest as the teacher called it)

keeping child off school would cause unnecessary panic amongst children and parents.

i support you 100%, your children and your descission and thats final,,ive not caught up with the thead but it looks like the government are keeping infection numbers down by not testing,,and they call out the chinese for doping figures,,its all about keeping the wheels of the country turning as long as they can, keep doing the right thing matey and thats whatever you think is right

Keep trying mate, sounds like you need testing, even if it's just for your own peace of mind.

We are being sacrificed to preserve day to day business life. This is so fucked up. Good luck everyone, we’ll need to come together through hammering the message on social media as our government doesn’t want to do it.
and they wonder why people panic buy,if they cant come clean and be fully truthfull then what do they expect

GP just called and I have an appointment later this afternoon booked in. I made sure to state my concerns over the phone, making sure the GP is fully aware of my symptoms and the potential risks. I'm hoping they're in a hazmat suit when I arrive, but probably not.

Hoping it's just a bit of placebo effect on top of a bit of a flu, but I've never had pain in chest and ribs before, so logic says it could well be similar to pneumonia. Despite me not feeling mega poorly.

111 take a couple of hours to call back as they have to arrange an appointment for you to see the local on call dr or walk in centre, they are trying to keep people out of the main hospital, give it another hour then call back,gp's generally finish the day before they call people back so they wil probably call you later on

Edit just seen you have an appt, hope all is well

I've been looking for sources to confirm this (my wife told me she heard it on the news this morning) and I can find none.

I did however, find reports of the first German to die, a 60-year old man who had flown from Germany and who died in Egypt on Sunday. So perhaps that was it, and it was lost in translation.

My apologies if this is indeed the case and perhaps I have misled people. Anyway, good news if I have got it wrong.
Seems I was right in the first place. Two confirmed dead in Germany now.

Thanks for your advice Karen, you've been more helpful than 111. Due to my age and no previous health issues, I think they just fobbed me off. The lad I spoke to was trying to, so I kept him on the phone and got one of their nurses to call me and she did the same, literally reading off an internet script to me, not happy with their service. Will be even less happy if it comes back as a positive dose.

Hoping the GP will test for it there and then tonight, and that I get a result pretty sharpish.

Cancelling sports events and closing public places would be "premature" - culture secretary

Money before health

They are relying on individuals to do the right thing

you watch Karen, in a couple of weeks when the figures are higher and the rumours start on social media that the figures are well below what they should be, the internet will close down in this country and the government will put it down to stop people picking up fake news
