I said that there were no Western countries with a mass testing strategy. One has emerged. They're certainly testing huge numbers. Whether they are tracing contacts of positives I don't know.

That country is very predictable: Germany. They are testing an amazing 160,000 per week. Do you know how many people the UK has tested? 72,818 to date.

By virtue of testing so many people they should be better able to reduce the virus transmission rate. Their fatality rate is very low but their no.of deaths will increase as the epidemic matures.

One thing is for sure, as a society in this country something needs to change to get us thinking and looking after one another again.

I hope that lesson's will be learned once this is all over and I hope it doesn't take an enormous loss of life for that to happen.
Too many thick selfish cunts in this country , i’m Just sad I share the same space as them .

250,000 if the government did nothing. 20,000 with the policy with have now + isolation of the elderly which will come soon.
It's all in the documents released yesterday.
6x worse than 9/11 as a "best case" scenario. Sobering thought. In a country of 1/6th of the population.

What an unusual strategy... following WHO advice on testing. Not sure who came up with that plan in Germany but can they have a word with someone over here?

Not necessarily the case as we have only recently started seeing people go to hospital. The case is not solved until they fully recover or in most of these cases unfortunately die. People will be in hospital for an average of 14 days I’m sure I’ve read,so most will still be there and unsolved.

I was only talking about the solved cases not including those currently in hospital or ill at home.

Wait until we are stacking up the corpses at hospitals for the army to transport away. People will fall into line. Too late then though.
I live about a mile away from the main hospital where I live and was up there in a work capacity on Wednesday. They have discreetly had 4 refrigerated lorries brought in and parked up round the back for worst case scenario deaths

I went Tesco before. Had them cheap toilet rolls in stock. Packs of 4. So I put 2 packs in my trolley. I have a family of 5!. Got to the till and was told I was only allowed 1 pack. The woman in front of me had just purchased a big pack of 18 toilet rolls.

She caused a big scene by asking the manager to come over. Society has become ridiculous.

All because of wankers over the past week filling trolleys full of toilet rolls. Normal folk who don't panic buy have to wipe there arse with kitchen roll.

Paranoia has reached absurd stages. I just sneezed in front of the laptop and the anti-virus scan started on its own.

Sounds like a positive development, but 300,000 kits per week isn’t going to touch the sides of what is needed right now sadly.

Can't predict the motivations of a Pharmaceutical company but I would imagine they could be made under license if they didn't want to give away the methodology.

Also China came out with one 2 days ago, now Korea, western Pharma companies won't be far behind.

300,000 also is the number they are exporting, it doesn't say this in the article, but what are the chances the Korean government is letting them export 100%? I would imagine they'd want a good amount staying domestic.
