When I listen to the Italian doctors being interviewed and asking what advice they have, they all say stop work. The industrial Northern heartland of Italy has it worst because whilst the little northern towns were quarantined their workers were still in the factories and car plants working away as usual.

Stop work, and test. That's what I hope happens next.

What a shitty situation in Zagreb. Authorities were warning and threatening people yesterday about going out and grouping outside and this morning they were hit by 5.5 earthquake and all went out of their homes.

Makes you wonder if all the advice is for show, but there is just enough red tape and poor contradictions to alow this virus to filter through to the vulnerable. I find myself thinking there is a cull of sorts. Really hope I'm wrong. Maybe time for me to switch off the news.
 
Just hearing our lockdown has been extended for another 15 days which will take us into the middle of April. I’ve no doubts it’ll be extended again as we get closer to the end date, and so on and so on. I’m not expecting to leave my gaff for at least 2 months tbh.
It’s not going to get any better anytime soon.

Trump is getting pelters for jumping the gun on it’s effectiveness when we have no definite idea of how effective it is or whether it makes things worse or better in the long term or dosage amounts etc. Trump should keep his mouth shut otherwise people will start trying out these pills when they get a runny nose and dropping dead with heart failure.

The Chinese flagged this drug combo in February and the French have also done a limited trial. You will note that nowhere is it being used on significant scale even where things are bad.
 
Nearly every retailer is closing stores but Next are going ahead with their in store sale and the Sales Director has told staff they need to take advantage when others are shut.

Two close family members of mine have to report into work.

Fucking disgraceful.

Think on this. Had we had the clamp down we have now, 2 weeks ago, there would have been 10x less people infected at the peak, 10x fewer deaths at the peak and the peak would be sooner and over much quicker. On Monday 9th, I wrote to my MP saying that in 2 weeks time, i.e. when the stats are out tomorrow, we would have "6,000 or 7,000 infections and hundreds dead". And I asked him to bookmark it. Why? Because I could see how it was growing and that was the situation in Italy at the time. Tomorrow we will see exactly those figures.

You can get it if you have arthritis, lupus or sjogrens. Whether it is effective in preventing infection has yet to be shown (could be used to treat infected, and also prevent infection).

and here my family are self isolating because lads gf stayed over night than 36 hours later has shown symptoms, yet the government are not clear on this as she does live here full time , we are running out of food etc because we cant get to the shop or are prepared to que like this and risk spreading it should we have it and not know. I hate this country at times.

Yet the fking supermarkets are fking hammered,at least in a pub you can sit a distance from someone else but not in a supermarket,

Amazed there isn't already. The UK is sleep walking into disaster territory.
 
We can tentatively say that the growth in reported new cases in Spain suggests that we are at or near a turning point in Spain but we will only really be able to tell this in hindsight. Keep an eye on it. Spain and Italy will be a forecast for the UK.

Compared with Spain, the government is doing nothing. People going out as they please will not control this. While keeping the over 70s at home will protect them, younger people milling about spreading this virus will lead to many deaths amongst this group.
As someone said the people spouting the stiff upper lip bollocks are actually the Luftwaffe in this case.
