I'm going to a beach in Cork that is quiet generally. Like I said if there are too many there we'll go for a walk on the country road. I'm not going to the likes of Blackpool :-)

Small world. My Mum and Dad live in New Mills, my brother in Furness Vale just off the A6. I am cooped up in a little flat in Manchester.
When I listen to the Italian doctors being interviewed and asking what advice they have, they all say stop work. The industrial Northern heartland of Italy has it worst because whilst the little northern towns were quarantined their workers were still in the factories and car plants working away as usual.
Stop work, and test. That's what I hope happens next.
Makes you wonder if all the advice is for show, but there is just enough red tape and poor contradictions to alow this virus to filter through to the vulnerable. I find myself thinking there is a cull of sorts. Really hope I'm wrong. Maybe time for me to switch off the news.Get an isolation note for your employer.
"This service is only for people who:
(Presumably the bullet points are "or" rather than "and")
- have symptoms of coronavirus and have used the 111 online coronavirus service
- have been told by a healthcare professional they have symptoms of coronavirus
- live with someone who has symptoms of coronavirus"
So you click to start
First question:
Have you been told to stay at home by the NHS website, NHS 111 or a healthcare professional?
And if you say no because you live with someone who has symptoms of coronavirus it then says
"You can only get an isolation note if you have been told to stay at home by the NHS website, NHS 111 or a healthcare professional"
the Yanks are doing a massive trial in New york as we speak. Trump has been pushing this at his pressers for the last 4 days and getting criticised for it. They have ordered lots of the drugs.
I can see that, but honestly I get the impression throughout that our strategy has been to do the minimum possible in order to cause as little disruption as possible. And only to act when it's blindingly unavoidable.
Think on this. Had we had the clamp down we have now, 2 weeks ago, there would have been 10x less people infected at the peak, 10x fewer deaths at the peak and the peak would be sooner and over much quicker. We had a 2 week head start on other European nations and sat back and wasted it. Can people REALLY hide behind the excuse that 2 weeks ago, we could not see this coming? It's heart-breaking, it really is.
And we STILL are allowing people to freely move in and around and in and out of London, our very own Lombardi in waiting.
On Monday 9th, I wrote to my MP saying that in 2 weeks time, i.e. when the stats are out tomorrow, we would have "6,000 or 7,000 infections and hundreds dead". And I asked him to bookmark it. Why? Because I could see how it was growing and that was the situation in Italy at the time. Tomorrow we will see exactly those figures.
People have already od'd on itTrump is getting pelters for jumping the gun on it’s effectiveness when we have no definite idea of how effective it is or whether it makes things worse or better in the long term or dosage amounts etc. Trump should keep his mouth shut otherwise people will start trying out these pills when they get a runny nose and dropping dead with heart failure.
The Chinese flagged this drug combo in February and the French have also done a limited trial. You will note that nowhere is it being used on significant scale even where things are bad.
Just hearing our lockdown has been extended for another 15 days which will take us into the middle of April. I’ve no doubts it’ll be extended again as we get closer to the end date, and so on and so on. I’m not expecting to leave my gaff for at least 2 months tbh.
It’s not going to get any better anytime soon.

and here my family are self isolating because lads gf stayed over night than 36 hours later has shown symptoms, yet the government are not clear on this as she does live here full time , we are running out of food etc because we cant get to the shop or are prepared to que like this and risk spreading it should we have it and not know. I hate this country at times.
This is my point, close bars, clubs gyms
Yet the fking supermarkets are fking hammered,at least in a pub you can sit a distance from someone else but not in a supermarket,
Amazed there isn't already. The UK is sleep walking into disaster territory.I think they really need a public information Tv announcement or something. Just before Corrie or Eastenders come on. The press conference is all well and good but it covers a lot and doesn’t go into the nitty gritty. People need to be told “don’t go to the beach” etc etc etc. It’s hard staying in all day though. Mental health issues will be off the scale by the time this ends
Compared with Spain, the government is doing nothing. People going out as they please will not control this. While keeping the over 70s at home will protect them, younger people milling about spreading this virus will lead to many deaths amongst this group.hopefully this will work then! Italy will be at 20,000 by next weekend at this rate! Hopefully the numbers will slow down some time this week though in Italy
