Apologies if already posted but is it seriously going to take thousands of deaths for them to understand.

What don't people understand about essential business and travel only.

Bit of an issue although he is correct, he had to be there himself to take the picture which is a bit counter to his argument.

Pretty clear from today’s press reports that the UKs entire approach to this virus is being managed by Dominic Cummings. Would like to know how an unelected individual has managed to grab so much power and influence. How can the nation hold him accountable? Just driven past my local park and playing fields - jam packed with people congregating and playing football- people are NOT listening to advice.
Have you locked yourself in?
I've chosen not to visit my my mum and dad; my kids aren't allowed to play near or with any others. I'm a teacher so designated as "key worker" so will have to be in work tomorrow. You decided to have your family round; and then more of the family round; you're classified as being at risk; you could have contracted this from them or passed it on to them if you have it and so the dominoes start to tumble. As I said, bell-end. A very selfish one at that.

but are they?

people need to get out of the house and exercise or go for a walk. So long as they stay a sensible distance from others what is the issue.

so for example what is worse me my wife and my son who all live in the same house stay here and drive each other mad , or we go for a walk , the three of us around a field? What does it matter weare not meeting other people or touching other people . We are just people going for a walk on a nice day . If you keep a safe distance from other people you might see what is the issue?

I am going for a run later on my own, am I bellend . What harm am I doing anyone?

this could last many months , saying people cannot even go out of their house for months on end will cause all kinds of mental health issues. Keep your distance but get fresh air if you can.

Nothing wrong with going for a walk or a run as long as you avoid busy areas and stay away from people. I went for a bike ride yesterday morning before most people had got out of their beds

Its the idiots that are packing out snowdonia, beaches, the lake district etc that are the problem. I saw pictures of the car parks at Snowdon… totally full with cars spilling out onto the road. Not a chance these people walked up and down the mountain without getting within 2m of anybody else

Anybody with a brain would have seen the state of it and either turn straight around or carry on to somewhere safe

Wife has just got off FaceTime with her 73yo mum. She already has been ignoring what we've been trying to tell her this past week but last night she went to bed at 6pm with a headache and sore throat. She was at Stanley park yesterday and today she's apparently recovered enough to have a walk on the prom and try to pick up some lunch from somewhere. Apparently there are only 5 cases on the Fylde coast so her and her partner won't get it. My wife's best friend's husband is a doctor so we already know that's bollocks but they just won't be told.

It is absolutely inevitable that she's going to get it.
She should follow Vic's advice, invite the family round for the weekend and have a lovely Italian meal. What could possibly go wrong?

We can only hope that it's the selfish arseholes who just refuse to socially distance themselves who catch this virus and die rather than those who are doing as much as they can to help protect others.

Personally I think it's part of a plan to enact measures without causing public uproar.

You tell people to avoid cafes and pubs to help the fight, people see lots of people in cafes and pubs. So they order them shut.

They tell people to avoid social gathering, but people see social gatherings going on so they shut them down.

In my opinion they need to close parks or public spaces by law soon.

The big-mouth who called everyone else fools a few pages back should realise society doesn’t function under controlled conditions in a laboratory. Nor does one size fit all countries and cultures.

I'm lucky where I live.
Just been for a walk with the dog saw one other person kept a good distance..once were in lock down this will be something I will do every day

Anyone know the % of pregnant women that’s been taken in for this ? Obviously there’s gonna be cases but just wondered if it is anywhere near as high risk for them as elders

NHS staff are crying out for safety equipement, one says they are running out of visors, the gov say the supply is fine it is getting them delivered, surely they could go to some of the big transport companies and ask for help in delivering it,it is the most important thing, along with food, they need to think outside of the box and get the stuff delivered

Here's an issue though. If we're closing bookshops, why are supermarkets allowed to sell books? If florists are closing, why should supermarkets sell flowers?

Yer, and if bookshop workers aren’t allowed to work, why shouldn’t the same apply to doctors, delivery drivers and supermarket workers....?

For those who might of read the previous posts about amazon prime now food delivery, ordered 06.30 this morning and delivered an hour ago, everything present and pretty damn good service. Really useful for anyone who can’t get food to someone they care about.

No reported deaths of pregnant women apparently, so the risk to them is miniscule compared to elders and the people with conditions.
