The GM scoreboard is not good as might be expected.

Bolton 5 (up from 2, total over 22 days of the new data is 144, 44 over the past week)

Bury 2 (level, total over 22 days is 51, over the past week 18 second best in GM)

Manchester 16 (up from 9, total over 22 days is 249, over the past week 80)

Oldham 25 (highest single day number, total over 22 days is 175, over past week 89 and 69 of those in last 4 days - looking to be a real concern)

Rochdale 18 (up from 8, total over 22 days is 273, over past week 109 and 46 of those in last 4 days - still a big concern along with Oldham)

Salford 7 (down from 12, total over 22 days is 97, over past week 39)

Stockport 7 (highest yet from here, total over 22 days is 59, over past week 26 - certainly has risen a lot over past week from when it was best in GM)

Tameside 5 (up from 4, total over 22 days is 65, over past week 21)

Wigan 4 (up from 1, total over 22 days is 46, still best in GM and lowest at 12 over the past week)

Unfortunately the regional scoreboard is grim news for the North West. Clearly now the epicentre.

London + 73 (down from 96)

West Midlands + 55 (down from 89)

Yorks & Humber + 102 (up from 86)

North West + 188 (the highest number recorded by any region over the three weeks since they published all the pillar 1 and 2 data daily)

So a quarter of all UK cases today are from the NW.
Could have something to do with all those celebrations going on in a certain part of the NW these last few weeks.

Bradford cases fell again from 30 to 23. Looking hopeful they might be getting on top of it but still high as it has only fallen from the mid 30s a week ago so too early to be confident.

Blackburn however rose for fourth straight day from 8 to 18 to 20 and now 24. Though lower than 34 a week ago it is heading in the wrong direction.

Leicester also rose from 26 to 39 but down slightly on a week ago when it was in the 40s. A way to go though it seems. At one point it was over 70 and did get as high as around 100 pre lockdown so re-imposing lockdown has helped.

Seen somewhere that around 10 people out of Million have Coronavirus anyone confirm this?
Today's ONS figures estimate that in the week to July 19, around one in 2,000 people in had coronavirus in the community in England - not including hospitals or care homes.

Last week's bulletin put the figure at around one in 2,300 people.

The ONS warned its figures "cannot be directly compared" from one week to the next, because they are based on complex trend models.

But ONS statistician Heather Bovill said: "Despite decreases in the level of COVID-19 infection from mid-May to mid-June this has slowed in recent weeks, and has now levelled off.

"As the Government relaxes lockdown measures, we are closely monitoring these results for any changes

The 770 new cases today came from 152, 133 tests 5000 up on yesterday. And 3000 more Pillar 1 and 2 tests than then to find the 1 extra case.

Oddly the Beta is showing 768 new cases added today whereas the non Beta still has 770. Might be those two deducted Scottish cases creating the confusion.

Either way its either +1 or - 1 than yesterday's 769 so not really a big deal.

The Beta post code map has updated to cases in the week 13 - 19 July btw.

Stockport gets its first flag with 3 new cases in Marple and 3 in Bramhall pinpointing where their spike comes from. These are the only areas with at least 3 cases over the 7 days which is where they start to flag up an area - with different colours for how many over 3 there are.

In Manchester Didsbury added 10. As did Crumpsall. Nowhere else over 3 or 4.

Werneth & Busk added 13 in Oldham.

Rochdale meanwhile....

17 in Wardleworth & Newbold Brow. 17 in Deeplish. 12 in Balderstone and Kirkholt. And Central Rochdale 11.

Only Audley in Blackburn with 30 cases on its own was worse in the NW.

And part of Bradford with 33 in the North as far as I can see.

Several parts of Leicester had numbers in the 20s but none beat those two.
