GM scoreboard:

Bolton 47 - down a little from 54. 722 in month. 386 past week. More than 50% of monthly total in last 7 days. 101 over 2 days (was 99). Pop score 988 - very likely to be the third into the 1000 club tomorrow. In record time.

Bury 16 - down from 19. 306 in month. 120 past week (very high week here by Bury standards). 35 over 2 days (was 35). Pop score 905 - rise of nine takes it into the 900 club. 3 weeks ago it was still in the 700s.

Manchester 39 - down from 53 and second lowest score here in past week. 1099 in month. 356 past week. (new high). 92 over 2 days (was 119). Pop score 855.

Oldham 17 - down from 18 and another OK number from Oldham - third straight fall. 607 in month. 137 past week. One third of Bolton to put Bolton in real context! 35 over 2 days (was 41). Pop score 1309. Good scores have seen Blackburn go back ahead of it so no longer worst in North.

Rochdale 25 - up from 14. Unfortunately a rare back step here from Rochdale becoming more of an issue. Only had a couple of days higher during the period of restrictions. 409 in month. 148 past week (first time it has had more cases than Oldham in the week during restrictions). 39 over 2 days (was 35). Pop score 1092 - close to the 1100 club.

Salford 37 - more than double from 15. Maybe Boris will go do the test there personally? Back up the levels of last week and third highest during restrictions for town that had best pop score in GM when they started. Showing how fast it can switch for ANY town. 447 in month (new record). 196 past week (new high). 52 over 2 days (was 34). Pop score up 12 in day to 786 and three weeks ago it was clear top at 648.

Stockport 16 - down from 17 - but run of figures in this moderately high for here level continues and is double where it was for most of the past month up to a week ago. Losing ground on records and top spot daily. 213 in month (it was sub 200 and top 2 days ago). Still just top in GM but likely to lose that tomorrow. 92 past week. It was as low as one third of this two weeks back and has never gone over 100 before so needs watching. 33 over 2 days (was 27 and this too is its highest ever). Pop score up 6 to 710 and leaking its lead daily now. But clining on to that one record for a week or two at least it appears.

Tameside 20 - down from 31. Happily improvement here (might help Stockport too). 379 in month. 160 past week. 51 over 2 days (was 61). Pop score up ten to 939.

Trafford 8 - down from 13 and only single figure number anywhere in GM for five days. Seems set to become best in GM at this rate. Hopefully leads others out of the mess. 262 in month, Still a way to go to catch Stockport here. 72 past week. Best in GM so takes the record here. 21 over 2 days (was 24). Pop score up lowest in GM to 754 closing on Wigan for second spot here.

Wigan 12 - down from 15 and best figure in a week here. 217 in month means it does not quite catch Stockport given its recent high numbers.103 past week. 27 over 2 days (was 37). Pop score 743.

It's a week tomorrow since ordered a test - didn't come out until Saturday afternoon - couldn't perform it until Monday morning - still waiting for results on a text or email.
Fingers crossed for you mate hopefully by the time you read this it's in and negative!
Why does Tosin not get any mentions?

Hospital data still going the wrong way sadly. Other than in Wales.

N Ireland patients up from 12 to 16

Wales patients down from 38 to 35.

Scotland patients up from 267 to 274.

England patients up from 519 to 539.

So 864 in total up from 836.

This time last week it was 745 in UK hospitals.

We were down in the 600s at one point.

So we have reversed the downward trend that started in April a month or so into lockdown and went on until the last couple of weeks where numbers fell from nearly 20,000 to under 1000 - which I recall marking the day we did that about a month ago in here.

Yes the rise is modest but in percentage terms it is not and the more patients you add the more cases they create and the more the numbers risk an exponential climb.

We are at a critical point where what happens in the next days and weeks will determine whether we enter a full second wave and another lockdown.

So, of course, the right thing to do was tell everyone to go have a party with 30 of their mates over the next 5 days.

The NW of course is by far the most impacted here. We have 173 in hospital today It has increased every day since 26 August when we had 77.

So those arguing it MIGHT translate into hospital numbers rising. No might about it

AS for deaths might follows - remember every one of the 8 deaths in England in the last 48 hours were in NW hospitals.

So that also is not a maybe, It is a reality.

Both these things will get worse if we do not get this under control in coming days. And could quickly reach a point where we see things escalate to a level from where it will be much harder to regain control without a total lockdown like we had before.

Which nobody wants.

So I repeat WHY give days notice to let people party before the numbers for gatherings are massively reduced? In what universe does that make sense?

And if these rises were in London not the North West would it be different?

Once again never heard as many ambulances in Manchester and on the way home as I have today. At least ten. Sobering.

Remember folks, the older you are the more likely you are to have a Vitamin D deficiency. If you have such a deficiency the chances of dying if you catch Covid-19 escalate dramatically. This applies for Flu and other diseases - not just Covid-19 Make sure your older family are on a Vitamin-D suppliiment.

All UK residents are advised to take Vit-D anyway between Oct-Mar because we don't normally get enough.

Until everyone in the country takes this seriously and acts responsibly, we are going to not see any improvements soon, and I fear the youth (not all btw), are simply not willing to cooperate.

There will soon be more stringent measures put upon us because of a minority
