Boris now claiming he will unlock us all in February if his mps agree to pass this continued lockdown 2 through. Lying again.
It’s clear they lied about this lockdown 2 being only for four weeks and was always intended to last until April.
Starter merely has to be seen to be remotely competent and he wins in 4 years
There's no change there tbh was always up for a commons vote after the 4th review period I believe.

Oh mega - now there's an outbreak of avian flu H5N8 at a turkey farm up the road from me at Northallerton.

Whilst the health risk to humans is low what is someone with Covid also gets H5N8 and just as we have an anti-Covid vaccine the whole thing bloody mutates again and is even more deadly.........?

Them and the swans here ,add covid mink farm, wet markets etc , why the fuck do we humans insist on mass farming and fucking about with animals , we should have learnt from CJD in the 80's

There’s going to be a mass move from tier 3 to tier 2 on Dec 16th, or whatever date the new tiers will kick in from. Burnham has been given the nod we are going to be included in that move to tier 2.

This is also likely to be the final national lockdown, and we should see some boroughs decoupled from their wider area, example Trafford should hopefully be moved down again when the time is right without having to wait for other Gtr Mcr boroughs such as Rochdale to catch up. Why should a wet led pub in Altrincham have to remain shut because they can’t behave themselves 20 miles away in Rochdale?

because the pub in Alty would be full of people from Rochdale?

That is harsh on Rochdale. Its Weekly Pop score (the data they use to decide) has fallen over the past two weeks from 591 to 535 a week ago to 291 last night.

It is the highest in GM. But the latest data that was released today showing the figures used to make these decisions has the whole of GM at 200.

It has stabilised since around that number. And London is not far behind. Indeed on last weeks figures where the decision was based London was at 199.3 - almost exactly the same as GM is now.

There are other factors beyond cases but in hospital numbers in that week London has RISEN by about 100 and the North West has FALLEN by 300. And London has ADDED 34 ventilated patients and at 267 is second only to the Midlands with 304 (whose numbers are falling).

The NW ventilated patients in that week have fallen by 37 to 203 - well below and in fourth place of the nine regions.

So those key metrics are not easily supportive of differentiation.

Though the hospital data is NW not Greater Manchester. However, from the data I have seen Lancashire has been struggling with deaths the most lately.

Simply comparing Trafford to Rochdale, it’s not harsh IMO.

It is in the sense that Oldham and Rochdale have actually fallen the most in recent weeks and Trafford has never been high and so in terms of making a difference to what happens to GM right now the efforts of the Pennine boroughs are the biggest reason there is now a case to remove GM from tier 3.

As I have said many times I do not believe it works to split up GM by area as there is too much movement between boroughs day to day and any immune areas will not be immune for long if the pubs and restaurants open on the other side of the street to where you live.

This is why I believe national measures worked over the past month and nothing else before on regional basis did.

Anyway good news from the data today. Apart from Wales sadly. No wonder they are facing another national lock down. They are by far the worst problem in the UK right now.

I spent half this morning persuading my best friend NOT to go to Wales next month and stay with family there. As they have believed the media talk that Wales is safer than plague ridden Greater Manchester so it will be safer for her (despite her serious asthma) to be in Wales.

I know it is not true and it s why this media mismanagement of the data really annoys me. It puts lives at risk.

Bad news first Wales:

England hospital deaths down too.

208 with 32 from NW it was 222 last Sunday. Weekend data, of course. Always down a bit.

England hospital deaths 3 wks v 2 wks v last wk v today with NW numbers and % of total

122 / 23 NW / 20% v 132 / 27 NW / 20% v 222 / 37 NW / 17% v 208 / 32 NW / 15%

Much slower fall at weekend due to NW underreporting but 15% is lowest yet in the NW share of the England deaths fitting all the other good news about waning case numbers and hospital numbers in the region. Deaths will always be the last to change.

Other England hospital death details from the 208 today.

Midlands 63, NE & Yorks 50 highest regions.

Ages 20 - 39 (1), 40 - 59 (11), 60 - 79 (81) 80 + (115)

Was always gonna be till April, why did Rishi extend the furlough scheme to the end of March, Bojo has continuously lied through his teeth, all we ask for is honesty and clarity and were getting bullshit after bullshit.
I think that would go down better with people, it been badly miss managed, help out to eat out, blm protest , 2nd lockdown, 10 pm pub closing

The pubs and restaurants I been in are safe so are the gyms as its people's livelihood
