Covid and travel discussion

I drank with 2 of these individuals who had been double jabbed prior to me catching it so its very likely I caught it of a double jabbed person as well! I tested the day before meeting them at home which came back negative.
I know people who have been vaccinated and their partner not, who sleep in the same bed, who havent caught it off one or and another so in terms of a vaccine passport as my orinignal post what is the point????

Pointless and I hope it doesn't happen but I think it will I hope I'm wrong.

Seems like our government have misread the French data. Their data is a combination of France and all her Outre Mer territories. The South Africa variant is seen in big numbers in a couple of those territories which is skewing the numbers.

Our government either playing games or completely incompetent.

I agree but I was surprised to find there are in excess of 25 flights into Paris today from those territories, quite a few of which are from Reunion which also has close links with South Africa.

They’re not playing games……….

Vaccines are not the silver bullet though. They reduce the severity of the symptoms, you can still catch it and pass it on. We will be in this for years at this rate.
Why are fully inoculated travelers from amber countries not required to quarantine if they can still be contagious. Do vaccines reduce levels of transmission and if not, then were is the logic behind the decision.

A certainty it won't be just Bulgaria adding us to their red lists in the coming weeks. Our planned August jolly-boys are off the radar as it's not fitting in with our overseas travel criteria.

Not sure what the current statistics for Europe are per 100,000 populace but last July when we traveled it was only 18.
Will have a look again in September.

Going to France in 3 weeks, as rural a place as you'll find. Far safer than being in a city here. I'm just trying find the full test package required...pre-departure, 2 and 8 days plus 5 days release. Around £500 for the two of us. Or more. We can both do 5 days upon return. Both fully jabbed, really unhappy.

We can offset the tests costs by not going to Wales later in August. The France Somme trip is not something we want to miss, it's such an incredible place.

France may yet fire back and just ban travellers from the UK, who knows?
