Covid and travel discussion

I'll probably give travel abroad a swerve this year. I might book something towards the end of the year if there is an established process for getting in and out of the country and a bit more certainty about how well it is working. If I do, I will just book something last minute. I'm OK with waiting until next year though.

We had 2 weeks in Greece booked for the beginning of June with Jet2, booked it in September think we will just get a refund and leave it until next year now

It's too unpredictable at the moment. You could fly out on the Monday and on Tuesday find out the country you're in has been moved into a different catagory so you have to quarantine on your return. Lots of countries have their own restrictions in place as to who can come in, what tests are required, curfews, mask wearing etcetera it's just not worth the stress.

Agreed. Generally the purpose of having a holiday is to get away from the stress for a short time, if going away is actually more stressful than not going then it negates the purpose of going in the first place.

I got out last year and enjoyed it but three days in the Canaries went back on the quarantine list so I had to isolate on my return. Then mask wearing outdoors came in towards the end of my holiday. I advised friends going out at Christmas it wasn't the same but they went and found hardly anywhere open and a 10pm curfew. Why pay for that??

As soon as the masks outdoors and curfews are lifted I'll go, before then no.
