Covid and travel discussion

Why? Plenty of places for a break here. No point in cutting your nose off to spite your face is there? Get some money spent over here.
You do realise a lot of people prefer to go abroad and hate holidays in the uk..2 weeks in a wet bridlington b&b..oh the joy

Public unrest because you can't go on holiday abroad for another few months?

Fucking hell!

Selfish, entitled wankers.
Not just holidays tho, is it? My son was born during lockdown last April and my mum still hasn’t been allowed to come over and see her first grandchild. I understand the reasons why, but I also know she’s heartbroken at the fact. She lives on her own now after my dad passed, and both her sons live abroad. I don’t see how that can be selfish

If someone had said last year that going on holiday was to be made illegal noone would have believed you.
The language and aggression from the government is appalling on a lot of the pandemic issues and its rather disturbing that they are rushing through legislation without debate on a lot of subjects.
Disgraceful.
The decision making in this pandemic has been nothing short of disasterous so many times with little thought of the consequences for many people.

Of course that's not selfish. I really feel for anyone that can't visit loved ones abroad at this time. It's truly awful.

Saying there could be public unrest because you can't have your two weeks in the Med for another few months is showing an incredibly selfish and entitled attitude though.

The uk does not have the capacity for everyone to holiday at home..most places are fully booked up already..lots of families can not afford to holiday in the uk..

Is he? So the stereotypical holiday in Britain is 2 weeks in a wet and windy B&B in Bridlington?

He used Bridlington as an example, could of chose from 100's of towns or regions anywhere over here to be honest.

You know exactly were he is coming from, many will.

Given the chance, most would go abroad for a two week holiday than anywhere here.

No "oh dear" about it,he's right.
I think boosting our own economy for a season won’t do any harm, the industry has been completely hammered like a lot of other businesses. If we get the weather we have some of the most beautiful scenery in the world

Let her come see him. My mum died 4 weeks ago, no way me and my 2 sisters werent together at her bed side when she passed.
Covid could fuck off

I know how he used it. He also said many prefer to holiday abroad, which of course is correct. The simple matter of fact though is that they are about to be told they can't. So their options are stay at home and silk, or have a break here, where there are plenty of lovely places to go.

I'm not opposing that,as said many families will have to do the UK holiday this year,I get that, but ironically will probably end up spending more than having a week or 2 in guaranteed sunshine.

The sunshine is a big draw in this, after the miserable 12 months we have all had,who wouldn;t want to get a few rays on their back.

I'm saying that given a chance, many would choose the abroad option

Agree my friend but it’s not happening this year imo
