For one comment that you only get from being an 'away' supporter:

WBA away in something like 1997'ish. Thick fog, eventually abandoned car on roundabout near The Hawthorns. Got in with my very large mate who,as usual, bleated on about always sitting next to a 'fat bloke'. Stood in away bogs,my mate demands to see tickets swearing that he was 'bound to have the restricted view'. Bloke stood next to me in full City gear said 'dont worry,I'll swap yer for mine as I cant stand watchin them at the moment'!

I think we won a shite game 0-1. But always remember for that incident which sums up City fans humour and away days for me.....................

Back in the 70s Leeds away always a battle at the station, held our own as i recall, Sheff Utd away 3-3 we were in their end throughout the game, scary but fun, Forest away very scary Huddersfield a giggle, Derby pop side funny, the swamp brill as we had all the scoreboard.

Wolverhampton on a Tuesday night, train from Piccadilly broke down arrived 25 mins late, Villa, Wembley all good fun, City always a great sense of humor win or lose.

Prima

Going to Leeds,Bolton,Aston Villa during the mid seventies, but Leeds was always the one I wanted to go too because we usually filled our end no problem, and then when the results started to go our way [ always nice to beat Leeds in those days ] it made the day something special.Train trips to Ipswich and Norwich were absolute classics because when we pulled in we always frightened the living daylights out of everyone, and one time I think it was at Norwich the police could'nt keep up with us when we arrived, and we escorted ourselves to the ground while the police I think was behind us...Good Times following City during the late 60's and 70's...

I remember some years ago when we beat Wednesday 3-1 at a sunny Hillsborough, with I think White scoring a hat trick. City played some brilliant stuff on the floor that day and with everyone including Vonk and Flitcroft having such great games, the atmosphere with the 5,000 Blues having a laugh and singing virtually non-stop was magical. It was also my first time at Hillsborough and couldn't believe the sheer size of their Kop End, it was great to out sing them!

I was at that game....Had Sheron and White up front and ripped them to pieces. Played in all white and remember saying to my mate it was like watching Real Madrid!.....Always thought it was 3-0 but might be wrong.

It was indeed 3-0. I too was at the game in the directors box as it happens. It was the first season of the backpass rule and I'm sure one of our goal's came as a result of a freekick awarded because of this.

Bored of international weekends. I am still re-living last weeks Blackburn match. Absolute quality from start to finish and a bit of a throw back. Especially for me who doesn't get over to see the Blues that much. Anyway stuck together some vids of the match to get me through to the next match. Especially for the Blues abroad. Even got three of the goals. Great, great atmosphere. Now why can't we just invite everyone who was at Blackburn to stand in the SS at home? First part here http://youtu.be/n8yAk-vIxdk Second part here http://youtu.be/CBO47x_bUZo

October '98 against Wigan at Springfield Park. An early start in Manchester on a piss poor day, fucking freezing in Wigan and didn't stop raining from the moment we got off the train. A roll neck jumper wasn't to waterproof and the game was shit on a quagmire pitch. But a punt upfield and a volley by the Goat settled it. Beers all the way back and an evening in Revolution. Great days out in the lower reaches

Without a doubt the best was the day we won the league in Newcastle, a perfect day as Sunderland beat the rags at the swamp that day that ended any chance they could pip us for the title. The worse was away to wycombe, a freezing wet tuesday night, early finish from work to go down there freezing and pissed wet through came away with a 1-0 defeat and back to manchester at half two in the morning to get up for work at 6.30. Anyone that thinks city fans dont deserve what we have now should have been at that game. lowest point of being a city fan for last 50 years
