Craig "Shez" Shennan (sadly passed today 01/06)

I don’t know if there’s an issue on that Just Giving page, that needs querying?

I was getting an endless round of tick all the cars/ crossings/ fire hoses etc. Went on for literally 15 minutes, and then I gave up.

Morning Blues

Update on Shez's tribute day, so we have the 11 a side organized with a trophy for the winners (11am kick-off on 15.06), a burger & ice cream van who will be kindly donating all profits to the family + a few things from City to be lined up. Big Steve is also coming down.

I'm currently arranging the 6 a side tournament which due to demand will now consist of 10 teams. It'll be 5 minute matches with the final being a 10 minute one. We ask if all participants could kindly make a small donation. So far I have 3 confirmed teams, so if you would like to take part & already have a team put together, let me know your team name through a PM on here & I'll get you down to play, it'll be first come first served whilst spaces are available. Anyone looking to come down & just play is of course also welcome, but will just need to sort it out joining one of the existing teams. Everyone is welcome to come down & watch the football & make an atmosphere.

We've been blown away by all the interest - thank you - it just goes to show how loved Shez is in our big blue family, he will be absolutely loving this. We hope to make this an annual event in his honour moving forward, with the trophy defended every year, & have had a few offering facilities in future for it, the dream being the CFA of course.

After the match we will head over to the Black Boy Pub on Bowland Road (M23 1JX - https://www.theblackboypub.net/) where there will be entertainment for the kids, a raffle with some items from City, food & drinks plus the usual beverages for all!
Glad I saw this, being thick I read the fb group and thought the games were kicking off at 6 minutes past 3!

Looking forward to it

Great work Joe.

Got a couple of City bits sorted for the raffle, although one of them would be better being auctioned to the highest bidder, I'll DM you the details.

Is the 5-a-side kicking off at the same time as the main game?

Afternoon Blue Boys & Girls!,

Please see the below for the Shez memorial event details on Firbank Park (Alderman Rogers Park on Maps - Firbank Road, Baguley, Manchester, M23 2YH) Starting 11am on Sunday 15th June, with the after event at The Black Boy Pub (Bowland Rd, Wythenshawe, Manchester M23 1JX) after. Hope to see as many of you there as possible!

Ian Cheeseman has posted this in tribute to Shez.

Great interview and heartbreaking hearing him talk about the CWC and not getting to see it.
If you could package your typical City fan/Mancunian it would be Shez. Self depreciating humour, happy go lucky and a cheeky quip and smile. Salt of the earth, always smiling. He reminded me very much of the other staunch Blue, the late Barry James the singer and guitarist who we lost recently too. The world is a much poorer place without them both.

Our Club, justifiably sometimes, gets a bad press and we rightly pull them on the various ticketing issues they impose upon us.

But, there's a good soul to our Club, something borne from its Mancunian roots, something no other Club has.

The lads organising the Shez Cup have just received a van load of City stuff that defies belief.

Including full City kits for the Shez 11.
FA Cup Final footballs. Training gear, the lot. Plus auction items including U12 match mascot and 2 tickets, hospitality package for 4 for our first 25/26 CL game.

Credit to Eddie Stewart and Joe Green for organising what will be a top day.

Get yourselves down Sunday lads n lasses.

Up the fucking Blues.

Hi All,

We have now been able to put arrangements in place for Craig's (Shez) funeral, Due to the high level of interest we are restricted on numbers for the service and wake. As im sure you can understand we do need to ensure that family and friends are able to pay their respects.

We can now confirm the funeral for Shez will take place:

3pm – On the 26th of June 2025.

At Manchester Crematorium (Southern Cemetery),
Barlow Moor Rd, Chorlton-cum-Hardy, Manchester M21 7GZ, United Kingdom

Unfortunately, the venue does have a limit on numbers for the service.

Whilst we would love to have everyone attend the Funeral this is not possible therefore we will be allowed a maximum of 70 spaces available on the day on a 1st come 1st served basis.

For those who cannot attend or gain entry to the service but would like to watch this it can be streamed on mobile devices with a link :

For those who wish to show their respects at the cemetery there is outside space.

We aim to welcome as many as we can to celebrate Shez's live with friends and family, in

Cityzens Lounge – East stand, Entrance

Manchester City FC
From 6 PM.

We are advised if you wish to attend the Cityzens lounge due to the maximum capacity this is limited to 350 people, based on a 1st come 1st served basis.

Thank you for the co operation

So, the Shez Bluemoon Tribute Journal, is done and dusted.

Thanks to all of you who've contributed stories, memories and kind words. I'm sure the outpouring of love and respect for Shez shown on these pages, will be of great comfort to his family.

The journal will be presented to Alisha and Jordan at the memorial match tomorrow.

Once a Blue, always a Blue.
